Vehicle Detail

1980 Porsche 911SC Triple Black I'm selling a very nice rust-free 1980 Porsche 911SC with about 97000 miles. I have records including the major work described below. The paint looks great. The car runs and shifts well. It has a Seine shifter installed for more accurate shifting. I drive the car 3 to 4 times a month and is always garaged. The a/c parts are all there but it does not work and I have not had it looked at. The driver's window is a little slow going up and down. Sunroof works. Car has the air box pop-off valve and updated pressure-fed tensioners. The carpet and interior are in good condition. The car has a Momo steering wheel and jvc stereo with JBL front speakers and Boston Acoustics rear speakers. It has an aftermarket stainless steel muffler. The tires and brakes are in good condition. The car has about 10000 miles since the last engine rebuild. Below are some of the major work done since 2005.Aug 2005 -- Car purchased by a previous owner for $18700 at which time the engine was rebuilt at a cost of $8800, car repainted including wheels at a cost of $3250. Mileage at time of engine work was 86,300. I spoke with the owner at European Automotive in Nashville, TN about the work. He remembers the car but not the details of the work. He said the engine was sent out for repair after the owner ran the car with too much oil in it. The case was replaced with a factory case as the current case does not have an engine number on it.Aug 2006 -- Valve adjustment and sunroof cable replaced. $1136Nov 2010 -- Fuel gaskets and intake boots replaced. $750Apr 2011 -- New air box, fuel injectors, warm up regulator, distributor housing, fuel pump, and battery. $3800I had a prepurchase inspection performed recently (during the first ebay listing) that included a compression and leak down test by ET Tuning in Union, MO. Compression was good in all cylinders, but to my surprise, cylinder #3 was diagnosed with a leaking piston ring. The compression and leak numbers are cyl1(100/5%), cyl2(100/5%), cyl3(85/55%), cyl4(100/5%), cyl5(100/6%), cyl6(105/6%). The car was diagnosed with a bad piston ring in cylinder #3. This is a nice car and I was expecting to sell it for a lot more than my reserve now. This car has the factory tail as well as the rare factory sport seats for the 1974-1980 911s. I am removing the factory sport seats and replacing them with standard 911 seats to lower the reserve price. If you know how to drop an engine, this is an easy fix and you will have a really nice car with a lot of maintenance work already done. Again, some of the pictures show the sport seats in the car, but they will not come with the car. They can be purchased separately by the winning bidder or anyone else interested in having a nice set of rare sport seats for their Porsche. This is a beautiful car as is, or would also be great for a conversion to an RS. I would be happy to answer any additional questions by email or phone 314-915-9036. I'm selling the car because I just bought a pastel blue 1971 911T and I need the garage space for my everyday driver. Winner to pay nonrefundable deposit of $250.00 by paypal at the end of the auction. The balance needs to be payed within the week. All funds need to be cleared prior to release of car and title to buyer. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I will help with logistics. I'm confident the car can be driven home as well. Additional pictures can be seen at s1171.photobucket.com/albums/r558/dangqd Videos of the car running can be seen at the following links http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOEykir9_qc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sa0_9D0UZ5Y
