PLEASE READ THE WHOLE LISTING You are viewing one of the few surviving Mercury Grand Marquis 2 doors. Many like to claim rarity of the 4 door sedans they sell, when in reality there are many more sedans than coupes still running. This 2 owner 1978 is quite impressive for its age. The previous owner worked for the federal government and had the vehicle very well maintained by shop that maintained government vehicles. The car has 105,000 miles one the clock, which is low as it is... However it has also been rebuilt (engine and transmission) at 55,000 miles, for which i have the receipts (all original equipment, vin matching). Along with those receipts, i have many more to prove previous replacements of parts. I also have receipts for the work i have done to the vehicle, which includes.... -Fresh paint job in factory color -4 Brand new goodyear tires -Brand new high output battery -Complete tune up (spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, gas cap, oil breather, pvc valve ect) -Brand new exhaust from collector back -Remanufactured starter -Fresh oil change around 1,000 miles ago -Transmission service (fluid, gasket and filter replacement) I may be missing a few small things, but all in all this is practically a brand new car. It starts right up and runs amazingly!!! I would say it is mechanically perfect and would have no doubts about it passing inspection (if it were to need it by state). The only modifications that have been done from the way the car came factory, is the muffler (flow master), the removal of the 1/4 vinyl top (i planned on replacing that due to keeping the car original, but have decided to let someone else enjoy it) and the emissions pump was removed by the previous owner when the vehicle no longer needed to meet emissions requirements. CAR FACTS Interior... - The interior is completely untouched and all original. All i have done is vacuum it and wipe it down. The seats are in fantastic shape for its age and suffer only minor nicks and leather cracks (no actual splits or tears, just typical leather cracks). The dash, headliner and rear dash panel are in unbelievable condition! Its was really sold me on the car. The carpets are in great shape physically, but do have some stains. EASILY REMOVABLE WITH CARPET CLEANER. I was going to have the seats steam cleaned and the carpets shampooed but have decided to keep the vehicle as is for sale. Its actually a really good testament to how much this car was loved. The only things i have found to not work well is the power intenna (motor burnt out, simple fix) and the power locks move but not well (needs adjusting i think) Exterior... - The outside is completely straight and free of rust or rot. The previous owner had the car undercoated many years ago and it looks amazing! The chrome and molding are intact and in nice shape (a little polishing on the wheels and molding would bring them back to how they looked new). The vinyl top was removed and painted underneath. The car is a total head turner. The headlight covers work and will stay shut while under vacuum. After its turned off, they will start to open after a few hours (the under side vacuum lines are a little cracked) This would make a great daily driver, hot rod, or weekend church car. Its simply a joy to drive and makes you feel good knowing how safe and reliable it is!! SALE TERMS.... SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY!!!
