I may forget to mention a part number or new parts i replaced,PLEASE ask any questions. Yes i replaced the 350 pontiac with a 350 Chevy Most everything came from C&C Performance in manassas VA, Summit ,Classic industries, Or GM Performance. The block is a 1972 350 bored 40 over (358 CI)with speed pro pistons Flat top 4 Valve relief, and speed pro moly rings. Rods are gm performance rods ,Clevite 77 Bearings Crank is a forged 10,10 Heads are 1972 heads ,Fresh valve job,new blue stripe Z28 Springs,Heads were sent to A local machinist ( John Buel) intake and exhaust were mildly ported and polished (I didnt get crazy,after all i wanted this car to be a good daily driver) Camshaft is a Comp Cams Magnum 12-211-2.Hydraulic-High performance. Biggest cam with stock converter. Mild rough idle. 1800-5800 RPM Range, This Cam works great with the 10" converter,& 3.91 Gears ( has a real nice lope to it at idle,but is definitely no slouch from a standing start. ( I researched the cam for a while and actually swapped 2 other cams into the motor and this one worked absolutly the best, Has great vacuum so power brakes arent a problem) New lifters,new pushrods, new retainers and locks,Valve stems were cut down for Nylock valve seals,pushrod holes were opened up ( can run up to 3/8ths ) and i used Comp Cams Roller tip Self aligning rocker arms. Intake is a Edelbrock 7501 RPM Air Gap Carburator is a brand new Holley Avenger 770 Vacuum secondary's with electric choke Distributor is a brand new 65,000 Volt Aluminum with vacuum advance ( good to 8,000 rpms) Wires are all custom made Moroso. Started out with 8.5mm suppression core then slipped them into the heat shielding heat shrunk all the protectors on the ends. Plugs are Bosch Platnum plus 4's Headers are Headman Huslers (65104) 1 3/4 primarys ( Collectors are Ball and socket flange) Runs into 2 1/2 pipe into flowmasters through tailpipes High flow mellings oil pump, high flow water pump, high flow holley fuel pump, I used grade 8 bolts were ever fiesable,All new TRW head bolts,Moroso oil pan bolts ,timing cover bolts & Intake bolts, Timing cover is a Summit cover and has a cam locking plate with an adjustable billet pointer. Timing set is a TRW Balancer is a SUM-C4265 - Summit Racing Street & Strip® Bracket Racer SFI,With a Moroso Balancer bolt. Flywheel is New along with all the Torque converter bolts and flywheel bolts Starter is a new 2001 Chevy truck starter ( Mini size and no shims needed to install it) Oil pan is a Trans-Dapt Performance Products 9726 - Trans-Dapt Performance Drag Race Oil With a 9727 Pickup. All gaskets that wre used were TRW & Felpro there are no leaks at all,Very little silicone was used in the normal areas to create the best seal possible. Every bearing was coated first with assembly lube,cam was covered with breakin lube and the engine was primed first before being started, has about 82lbs of oil pressure at idle when cold At 170deg its 65lbs hit the throttle and it jumps right up to 90. Oil was Royal purple break in oil with Zinc additive after 3 weeks of driving i changed it to Royal purple 5W-30 Transmission is a 1972 Turbo 350 with a Hughes Performance HP3288 rebuild kit installed by a local shop. Valve body is TCI 322200 Street fighter its setup for full automatic, Shifter is a B&M 80694 Mega shifter ( Made for 74-81 Consoles) Converter is a TCI 3500 Changed the fan over to a electric 16" Derale with thermostat ( No on off switch needed) All new belts and hoses, Pro Comp Billet valve covers and breathers Wheels are Centerline Billet Scorpions 16x8 4-1/2 back spacing with p275 60 16's M&H Racemaster Drag radials on the back and BF goodrich on the front Headliner is brand new, I have 2 brand new door panels that go with the car ( $339 at classic) Has a sony C/D player with Infinty speakers.
