Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE 1974 BMW 2002tii in Sahara Tan. It has virtually spent its entire life in Arizona, between Tucson and Phoenix (it is in the Phoenix area now). The original Sahara paint is shiny and it does not need a repaint (it does not have a sunroof), it has a strong professionally refreshed engine (165+hp) 5k miles ago with no leaks or issues (it does NOT burn, use or drip oil), the refresh was completed by Top End Performance in North Hollywood, car includes new electronic ignition, new headers, new muffler, refreshed powder-coated BBS RZ 14x6.5 wheels with new Michelin pilot 195/60/14 tires, 5 speed conversion with tight linkage, 4 wheel disk brakes, new bushings and struts, new sway bars front and rear, new Momo steering wheel, Recarro seats recovered to match interior color, Coco matts, Behr Air Conditioning that works and blows cold air (was recharged during last service), German Blaupunkt radio with hidden speakers (under dash and under seats) and hidden Sony 10 disk CD player in trunk, strut braces front and rear, battery relocated to trunk, new carpet, dash cap, new rear window seal, new side window seals and door seals, and many more upgrades and general maintenance. The original TII clock is included with sale. Mechanically this car is outstanding condition and the car was recently serviced with an oil change, new gaskets, new timing chain cover, AC charge, etc. (Car has been driven less than 100 miles since service). Serious buyers can contact my mechanic directly prior to sale and he will opine on its condition, up keep and care. He has cared for the car the last nine years and is a 2002 expert. Operationally it has no driver issues. I would be comfortable driving this car anywhere. It does not look, drive, or feel like a 38yr old car. The engine is strong, the car travels straight without pulling in acceleration or braking, and the AC works well enough to drive year around in Arizona. The car is in excellent non-accident original-paint condition. The 1974 bumpers were removed (they will be sold with the car) and replaced with 1971 euro style bumpers which make the car look cleaner, in my opinion. There is NO rust in the towers, quarter panels or foot boards and I would consider this an Arizona Rust Free Car. It is a very solid daily operator that functions as intended and has enough upgrades to rally on the weekends or take to the show. It is a great car and it has been taken care of by true car addicts during its lifetime. It has not been hit, no accidents, and it has not been painted. It is a great looking and performing car waiting for a new owner. Whenever I drive the car, I get positive comments. It looks terrific and performs wonderfully. To restore a car to this level would require an investment of at least $30k. With purchase is a complete record of and receipts for the restoration and most of its ownership. Also included is a detailed BMW mechanics shop manual that was factory issued. Also many functional parts and pieces collected over the years are included in one large box (filters, fuel pump, instrument cluster, etc.) Please send any questions you may have and I will attempt to answer.
