how rare is rare?- how about a matching numbers ( serial numbered block) and trans- low mileage - less than 50K miles factory 429 cj 4 speed sportsroof. NOT a MACH1 ! marti report states 1 of 38 made in this combo- one owner from 1971 to 2006. went into storage for 5 yrs then i bought it FEB/11. partial repaint at some time in its life but hood and trunk still have orig paint. orig stripe along trunk lid and qtr caps. color code C dark green poly/ ginger std interior. just restored eng bay to mca concours specs. with correct belts hoses amk bolt kits - installed vapor canister. removed eng and glass beaded eng bay- applied correct semi gloss blk. replaced orig pieces with correct mca approved items. retained all take off parts. degreased engine and applied ford dark corporate blue (1606) paint orig alternator, pulley and fan- fuel pump dooe-r heads dove-a block had rad recored 13 fins/inch it's a 4 speed rad - still has orig autolite rad cap. battery tray painted slop gray - had old set of hooker headers - replaced with correct 429cj exh manifolds. does have a lakewood bellhousing ( painted it blue) new eng feed harness new rev limiter ( was missing) all fact ram air intact- refurbished orig blue XXX"s on the hose - replaced driver's seat bun with new cover- perfect match. had orig bumpers , hood trim and twist locks rechromed - no cheap taiwan junk here! retains fact 15" magnums ( kh white dots on back side of rims). not perfect but are originals new ta radials - new master cyl and orig raised embossed cap and all new rear brakes. new ford front and gabriel rear shocks- all carlite glass no fold down single mirror- installed(butt weld not lapped) full pass side floorpan . pass cowl was rusty but repaired now. driver's side floors good condition caught in a major rain storm coming home from seattle and carpets were dry!- all correct aircleaner and snorkel intake manifold is the drag pak version to run a holley carb. currently using a holley 735 off my 70gt500. got 15 mpg on the run to seattle in july. almost a 300 mile run return trip. 3:50 rear end as per marti report. tracks and drives very good. paint is presentable as is but it deserves a quality paint. fenders were off when eng bay was done no rust in fenders some scaly rust but i removed all i could and applied some rust mort to protect inside of fenders. front hood trim and twist hood locks rechromed. - again went with orig not repo stuff. . trunk has orig space saver ( single valve) and red bottle. solid trunk lid will include new tape stripe from graphic express- also new int. carpet(in box)- correct 429cj H pipe and a boss 351 style exh system - using orig factory hangers and turn downs - no tips used on a reg sportsroof -mach1 only! as you can see i tried to keep and use oe parts- reproduction to a minimum no problem shipping from sumas wa. 98295 On Sep-03-12 at 06:55:44 PDT, seller added the following information: getting requests for more interior pics. do have more pics avail- also better add legal jargon- winning bidder accepts car as "as is condition" quality of paint is only thing holding car back from being a premiere show car. non mach 4 speed 429 cj. go to www.429megasite for more info on the 429 cj's On Sep-05-12 at 17:33:44 PDT, seller added the following information: if any more bidding i'll include 1 gallon drk green poly urethane paint - that was specific for this paint code C. - fact rear wing that was on my old boss 351. try to post a couple more pics-- orig eng coil tag and front rad support buck tag- prior to eng bay detailing
