Vehicle Detail
1964 Buick Wildcat 2 Door Sport Coupe SURVIVOR with 75,000 ORIGINAL miles! I inherited this car from my grandfather. It has been in our family since 1972. It is in exceptional ORIGINAL condition and you will not find too many like this! The chassis is solid with no rust! The body is straight with excellent stainless and chrome! The interior is all original and is near perfect! I am selling because I have recently sold the rental property where I stored the car and have a baby on the way. Cars are not my passion and I would like to pass this car on to someone who will continue to take proper care of it. Below is what I know about the car: ENGINE/TRANS: 75,000 original miles! The car has the original 325HP “Wildcat 445” engine, which is the 401 cu in Nailhead V8 (the 445 denotes the peak torque rating of 445 ft lbs). The 2 speed Dynaflow automatic transmission shifts smoothly. There are no leaks in the drivetrain. This car has never given me any trouble and don’t hesitate to take it to the weekly cruise-ins. (Note: in the pictures you might be wondering about the horns on the passenger side wheel well – my grandfather installed a “Dixie” horn at some point – the only non-stock thing on the car.) INTERIOR: The interior is 100% all original and as stated before is very close to perfect! The dash looks brand new - all gauges work, including the fuel economy gauge on the console. The windows roll up and down like butter and are clear with no bubbles. The carpet looks like it has never been stepped on! Even the sill plates are in excellent condition. The stainless trim is some of the cleanest I have seen – no dings or scratches. The headliner is good, but not show quality. It will probably need some attention before too long. It is white vinyl and is showing some signs of age. The seats are in excellent condition save one little hole about 1cm long on the back seat (not on a seam). Currently the A/C does not work, but I believe it just needs to be charged – the fan blows and the compressor kicks on. It is still R-12 so it would probably need to be converted. The switch for the bright lights is a foot switch located in the floor. Sometimes it doesn't catch which can occasionally cause the light to flicker. This should be a simple fix. The only other thing I can think of is that it is missing one interior light lens on the rear passenger side. EXTERIOR/BODY: The paint is original Grenada Red/Arctic White, but was repainted sometime in the early 90’s. It is not show quality, but is still in good shape with no dents or signs of rust. There are only a few minor imperfections for a 48 year old car. All chrome and stainless are in excellent condition with no missing pieces. The floorboards and bracing are solid. The trunk is the only place that shows any signs of rust – there is some surface rust and one very small soft spot (about the size of a dime) where you can see light. The rear passenger hubcap has a significant dent in it and all of them could use some rework. The tires have a decent amount of tread left but are aged and are Triumph Radial 2000 225/75/R15. I had a friend decode the VIN and cowl tag: VIN: 6K4060500 6 = Wildcat K = 1964 4 = Kansas City, KS Style: 64-4647 = 64 Wildcat Trim: 697 = Red Vinyl ACC: 1-21 = He wasn’t sure, but believes this denotes A/C Body: BK 5071 = BK denotes it was built in Kansas City, KS Paint: VC1 = Grenada Red/Arctic White As you can see, this car is not a perfect show car – it is a SURVIVOR that my grandfather took very good care of! I have represented this car as best I can. It has been kept in a garage or carport with a cover for most of its life. Mileage is all original and the car runs extremely well. I am so confident in this car that I am willing to allow the buyer to walk away before the transaction is complete if the buyer is not happy after seeing the car in person. If you have any more questions please message me, and I will be happy to give you my cell phone number. I want anyone who purchases this car to have a good experience and walk away without any unanswered questions!
