Up for sale , is a beautiful 1951 mg td roadster that I acquired a couple of months ago from a family who was past down from father to son, it has been with them forever. The son of the original owner spent over $40,000 restoring it. Besides the fact that this car has been beautifully restored, the journey that this car went through is a story of it own. We have the record of the restoration process from start to finish shown by pictures and word by word. I have all the receipts and records of the car, they spend years and years on this car many man hours were put on this car not to mention all money that was put into it. Here are a few things that the car has, it has new green leather interior which compliments the British racing green quality paint job! More than 80% of the chrome was restored, has new tires with original mg wheels, all the braking system was done and configured to the new 3.8 engine and transmission, not to mention the engine only has 183 miles since it was restored, yes only 183 miles. All the electrical wiring and gauges where configured to work with the engine and transmission, remember this engine has EEC( electric engine control) all of this logistics was not easy to do! Floor boards were replaced, gas tank, radiator, where restored. And these are just many of things that where done to this car. The convertible is fine canvas, and the whole thing was redone.The son put a lot of work, passion, and I'd say something more than effort, he left his soul, to have car restored into what it is, simply a beauty. It does not leak oil, does not leak water, no shaking, no noises, starts and drive good! Mg's with the original motors have you change the distributor points, and often you have to clean both of the carburetors. This unique mg you never have to do any of that because it fuel injected, if you want to leave it siting many years, you can easily come and with the turn of the key start it right up with no problems, and you never have to clean carburetors or replace and distributor points. Practically this car has only been driven 3 times since it was restored. The only thing that it's missing is the windshield motor it was removed them to restore, but was lost.
