A concerned bidder (and Infiniti dealer) wrote to us in the closing minutes and said that it's not the flywheel but rather the bearing on the transmission shaft. We let the auction run and gave the winning bidder the chance to "opt out" since we don't want anyone to buy a vehicle without knowing all the information we do. He chose to opt out. Now we're not sure which is making the noise. As might be expected from a 6 year old vehicle with almost 100,000 miles on it, there are some little bumps and scrapes on the body and wear on the driver's side carpet - but overall this is a solid, nice-looking car! We sent it out to be inspected (we don't work on anything but Honda products here) and this is what we told them: "Noise in neutral when shutting off/not present with clutch depressed/pedal sticks/need to inspect clutch or trans. Here is what THEY said about it: "Found noise coming from flywheel after removing trans for inspection" So there you have it...... We sold over 500 vehicles last month and received more than enough newer, lower mileage trades that DON'T need repairs to mess with this one.
