Vehicle Detail
Price reduced for quick sale!!! This is my 1980 diesel Dasher that I've been using to commute to work and deliver produce in for about 1 1/2 years. She starts and runs fine get on average 43 mpg mixed driving with much of it at 70mph. It has a 4 speed manual and a 1.5 diesel. When I bought it I decided to put a new professionally (at a VW shop) rebuilt head on with ARP studs, new bosch re-built injectors, new bosch dura-term glow plugs, andI re-sealed the injector pump. the tires are pretty new, It also got a new timing belt and pulley, new water pump, thermostat and starter with a new bushing. I also changed the tranny oil with synthetic tranny oil. This car has never over heated while I owned it and the previous owner never mentioned any overheating issues. It has A/C but it is not charges and I disconnected it so it won't come on. It might work if charged I don't know. Now the bad, the brake booster doesn't work so the brakes are manual only, it stops fine but you have to push harder, it has a little rust, it's most noticable on the back hatch (see pic) it leaks oil mostly out of the valve cover, the back left door is hard to open from the outside, one window crank is missing the end knob, the dash bulb is burnt out. I'm sure there are other little things I'm not thinking of. The car has never left me stranded and I think it has many more miles left. additional comments..... I remembered 2 more issues, the cold start cable is sticky and sometime takes some jiggling to get it to move and the hood latch cable broke, but I ordered a new one and will include for free, the latch will need some adjustment. I had a question about compression I check the compression a while back and the cold results were 350, 350, 335, 310 with the results averaged, which is pretty good but not great. If you look at the picture of the back of the car, I took it while the car was running for about 3 minutes as you can see there isn't any visible smoke from the tail pipe. I drive it up to 400 miles a week and she has never left me on the side of the road. The pic of the back end of the car was taken with the car running so you can see it runs with very little to no smoke.
