For your consideration: a 1974 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. I possess the clear California title (in my name) & It is currently registered in California. This vehicle has been sitting, since 2000. I am the third owner. The engine is seized. My intent was to restore this TLC, understanding that it is a California smog exempt vehicle. This TLC remains in the condition as it was when I purchased it. Built in Oct 1974. Engine # 566964. There is oil in the crankcase and the radiator is devoid of any coolant. It is a complete vehicle with original sheet metal & drive train (1F engine & 4 speed. trans.). It is missing all keys (ignition, fuel & doors). I have not inspected the inside of the fuel tank. Also small items such as the jack, tool kit & head rests are missing as well. I removed a PTO driven winch assembly so there is a hole in the sheet metal, transmission cover. The transfer case shift knob has stripped threads. Carpeting has been applied to the glove box interior bottom. This vehicle is structurally sound. The rear wheel wells have been cut & expanded to accommodate large tires. The rear sill has rust through. The rear barn doors have rust through on the bottom edges. The exterior surfaces have several dings, scratches and surface rust. The undercarriage has areas of surface rust as well. The floor pans & tub are good. No holes noted. The front doors are in very good condition and are minus the typical rust on the bottom edge. Silicone caulking has been applied around the exterior gutter. The weather stripping around the doors has shriveled and in need of replacement. The seats are torn & ragged; the headliner is in the process of falling. In summary this Land Cruiser offers a very good foundation for a total or partial restoration. Appealing in the since of “what you see, is what you get”- no hidden or amateur body repair work. It is in original condition and still sports original paint. It has CUTLAS brand front manual locking hubs; search the internet & you’ll see they have great reviews. Parts for this vehicle are readily available from on-line retail sources as well as here on ebay. Please keep in mind that while in my possession I have not driven this vehicle and there may be other drive train related issues other than a seized engine. I encourage any potential bidder to come by and examine the car prior to placing a bid. I have provided information regarding this vehicle in good faith. This is an older Fj40 and has “wear & tear” issues typically associated with this type of vehicle. If you do come by and take a look & like what you see, I am prepared to negotiate a deal. This used, inoperative vehicle, is being sold “as-is” & “where is” I have a pretty flexible schedule & should be able to accommodate any inspections or transport pickup times, given ample notice. Of note this year model does not have a locking steering column and should easily be maneuvered onto a transport with a winch. I accept Paypal only for the down payment only.
