Mercury lower unit for 65 thru 80hp (porobaby more) outboards rare short shaft. Shaft is 18 inches tall from the upper part of the housing where it bolts to mid section and has 8 splines. It came off a 80 horse that we put a jet pump on. Gears should be fine. Spline is a little rusty. Guessing that it is late 60's to 70's or even 80's. Dont know what exact years it will fit.
