You are looking at a 2 owner 1963 Mercury Monterey 4 Door Sedan Custom. The original owner bought it new from the Detroit factory in 1963 and drove it home to Ohio. It was always stored inside, well maintained, and rarely driven. I bought it from the original owner in 1999 and it has been kept in a heated garage ever since. The exterior of the car has been repainted from the factory color (drab green) and been replaced with Ford's "Red Strawberry Metallic". The interior is 100% original with minimal signs of wear and tear (only a small wear mark on the driver side carpeting). The chrome bumpers are flawless, having been re-chromed very recently. The rest of the chrome is also in very good condition with minimal pitting and shines great (only exception is a short piece of trim on the right front fender that is missing - see pictures). The rear "breezeway" power window works great and is a really fun feature! The drivetrain is also all original with the exceptions of a new fuel pump, water pump, battery, and power brake booster replaced over the years. The suspension of the car is all original with the exception of new tires and shocks (tires brand new). The new tires also include a new spare tire that still has the blue protective coating over the whitewall. All of the mechanicals are in great working order and this car runs and drives great. The engine sounds great and has been tuned up recently. The engine compartment is as clean as you'll find for a 1963, including the red FoMoCo windshield washer reservoir bag! The electrical system is also in great condition with all working lights, signals, factory clock and AM radio. This Monterey is a real head turner and ALWAYS gets a lot of interest from others. If you look around on eBay and other sites, you will see that this is one of the best examples around, and very, very affordable!
