Vehicle Detail
A very nice 1978 MGB roadster (convertible) with 4-speed manual transmission (no overdrive). This car is original paint, totally rust-free, with no previous body work. It starts and runs well, and has a brand new Pennsylvania state inspection sticker valid until August 31, 2013. The true mileage is unknown, but a replacement speedometer/odometer reads 67,571 -- the previous adult owner said he replaced the original speedo reading about 61,000 with one reading about 63,000 -- I have put on the extra miles. The engine runs very well -- oil pressure reads about 80 psi when started cold, settling down to about 50 psi when fully warmed up (these are excellent numbers). The car has many upgrades both mechanical and cosmetic. It has a Moss stainless steel exhaust system; a newer gas tank; 5 knock-off wire wheels; 5 low mileage matching tires; Allison electronic ignition; rebuilt carb; auxiliary fan; new brake hoses and brakes; new front suspension boots; removable roll bar; convertible top; top boot; regular tonneau cover; roll bar tonneau cover, etc. It also has a wood MG steering wheel, MG wood shift knob; replacement seat upholstery; JVC stereo/casette; replacement carpets; MG floor mats; wing (fender) mirors; headlight guards; racing stripes/numbers (removable). To sum up, the car is rust-free and runs well, but a number of things need attention, if so desired: window visors; heater switch; radio/speakers not connected; small dent on right rear quarter panel. I have never used the heater, radio, or tops, as for me the car is purely a summer driver. Car starts easily, drives very well, and is a joy to pilot along winding country roads. Car can be inspected in Bethlehem, PA (Lehigh Valley), 85 miles west of New York City and 65 miles north of Philadelphia. For further information, call Ray (that's me, the owner) at 201-675-9855. Wonderful summer toy, but I am retiring to Florida and have to downsize my life, hence the realistic price for this great car. Needless to say, the car is offered AS IS, WHERE IS, with no warranty stated or implied, but check my feedback rating. (NOTE: Turns out I had pics of the the top in place and the top boot (both look real good) -- check out the revised pics).
