Vehicle Detail
NO RESERVE !!!! 1979 International Scout II 2 4x4 Here is a very nice 1979 Scout 2 4x4 With Automatic Transmission. I am saying that it has 42,000 original miles. Speedometer stopped working back in 1992 at 22,000 and there has probably only been 20,000 miles put on it in the last 20 years. The 78 year old gentleman I bought this from owns storage units so it would sit inside the storage unit for 11 months of the year. He only drove it one month every single year. He would pack up his RV / Motorhome and pull this Scout up to Alaska on his annual trip. He would pull the drive-shaft and use the tow-bar that is included. Once there he would drive it around for a month, then pull it back home behind his RV / Motorhome and throw it back in storage till next year. This truck drives very smooth down the road with no funny noises clanks or clatters. I have had this up to roughly 75-80 mph on the interstate and its a smooth ride. Only reason I am selling it is due to financial issues (Got an accepted offer on a house and I don't have enough money for my downpayment.) Otherwise I would keep this forever!!! Oh yeah, The topper on the truck is now white and looks great. The picks show it when there was only primer on it. Also, the inner door panels are now black, not brown and I also have different black fitted seat cover for the rear seat. The one in the pics did not fit. Also, the piece of molding/trim that is missing on the drivers side rear quarter panel is now back on as well. This truck turns soooo many heads and it does drive very smooth. Winning bidder will be more than happy with it. I would take this truck from New York to California in a second and not worry about breaking down. I close on my house in a little over a week from the day this is posted. So if you need to pay by Paypal to get me the cash within the 3 day payment window, that is fine. I think Paypal charges around 4%-5% for the transaction. Pretty steep if you ask me. So I would prefer an overnighted cashiers check or if Paypal is the only way to go, then I will eat the cost and deal with it. I can store this as long as you need me to. I have a plenty of space for it. Feel free to email me with any questions. I will check my messages once a day and get back to you or you can call me as well. 1-608-574-3149. Good Luck!! This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION. IT WILL SELL TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER !! Happy Bidding! On Aug-22-12 at 16:55:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello everyone. I just want to be 100% honest with everything on this listing so there are no surprises after the purchase. I will also post questions and answers if they pertain to the vehicle condition so everybody knows as much as possible about the vehicle before they purchase it. Here is an update with a question I received from an interested buyer. He was wondering what the stuff was on the frame and leaf springs. Here was my response - Hello, That is old transmission fluid that leaked out from the one transmission line that has a drip to it. I had considered taking it in to get the one line replaced but decided not to. I guess it's been doing this for many many years and the old man I bought this from said that he would just add a little transmission fluid whenever it got low. Good thing is that it protected everything underneath it! This is still 100% drivable. I have driven it for 3 months and have had to put 1/4 of a quart of fluid in it. I hope this helps with your decision on the vehicle. Thanks for the question! I will also add this to the description so everyone is in the loop. Also, I want to emphasize that the transmission on this truck is ROCK SOLID. I am 100% sure that it's just one little line that has a drip to it. So please keep this in mind when bidding. Thanks everyone and feel free to ask more questions. I'm a straight shooter and I will disclose everything I know about the vehicle.
