This car was traded to us by the second owner, who has driven and lovingly maintained it since 1994 - interestingly, he purchased it from NFL Hall of Famer Andre Tippet of the New England Patriots, one of the few guys who could afford its $75K window sticker in 1989! This car is equipped with power and heated seats (front and back!), full leather, power sunroof, dual airbags, ABS brakes, leather wheel and shifter, factory "aero" alloy wheels, upgraded European headlamps, and much more. It would not be economically viable to produce a car of this intense "nuts and bolts" quality today. This car had an MSRP of more than $74,000 in 1989. In todays dollars, it would cost well over $100,000 to duplicate the engineering quality of the all West German production and assembly teams. This quality is perfectly signatured by the sound the doors make when closing - something like a bank vault. The clarity of the chrome, brightwork and lenses is in excellent condition on this remarkably preserved classic sedan. The Cabernet Red/Black Leather finish is a rare and collectible color. The sides are straight and smooth. The factory "aero" wheels are in excellent condition, with new tires up front. The factory leather is in excellent condition. The rich, wood trimmed dashboard is in excellent condition, with dual airbags for driver and passenger. This photo shows not just the low original miles, but also the deep orange finish on the speedometer. In most of these cars, this labeling has faded to lighter orange, yellow, or even white. To remain this much like new, this car had to be kept indoors, and away from UV light. The period-correct high-end stereo system was professionally installed when Mr. Tippet owned the car, and includes an Alpine head unit, remote amplifiers, a subwoofer and CD changer. Also an Alpine alarm system and Lojack. The large power sunroof works well. The leather-wrapped steering wheel is in excellent original condition and feels very nice to grip. Power and heated rear seats! This car has more lumber inside than the Pacific Northwest!The large trunk will accomodate pretty much anything.The potent 5.6 liter light-alloy V8 is smooth and powerful.
