Vehicle Detail

1986 Audi GT Coupe - Not Quattro, Power Steering, 5 Speed Manual, PW, Sunroof, Power Door Locks, Cruise, On Board Computer I bought this car about a year ago for my daughter. At the time it had what I thought was a minor exhaust leak - no big deal right?. Then what started as an attempt to fix the exhaust leak, mushroomed into something much bigger. As it turns out the exhaust leak was caused by some broken head studs for the exhaust manifold. So instead of extacting the studs with the head in the car, I decided it would be best to pull the head so I could get at them easier - then it all started. Once I had the head out I figured - what the heck - I should rebuild the head. Then i did the following:Rebuilt head with new valve guides, studs, seals, resurfaced valves, seats, and mating gasket surfaces - big $$$$New Head GasketNew air shrouds on the fuel injectors as well as new O-ringsNew air idle stabilzation valveDe- carburized the fuel injectors and cleaned. New timing belt, pulleys, and idler pulleyNew Water Pump - due diligence while doing the timing belt.New Alternator - gave up the ghost shortly after car was running again.New v -belts So at this point I had a nice running engine with no leaks. So I decided to address suspension shortcomings:New lower front control arms with new bushingsTRW rebuilt power steering rack - big $$$$New lower font ball jointsNew front upper strut bearingsNew front sway bar bushings & sway bar end links.New rear contol arm bushingsNew rear Bilstein HD shocks - big $$$New rear brake shoes, resurfaced drums Okay so now we had a nice running GT coupe that is tight on the road and handles very well. 1 year had passed, my daughter got impatient and found another car to drive. So now I have an extra car I don't need ( I have too many other hobby cars) - hence why I am selling it. The car is very sharp looking and I get a lot of attention where ever I drive it - especially from the Audi & VW guys. The motor runs very strong and feelsmuch more powerful than 110 hp. The car is also fairly light at 2500+ lbs which is why it is fairly quick especially in third. It is also very comfortable and quiet and gets good gas mileage. The 5 cylinder is very smooth. The only issue is that occasionally the idle speed will go up and down while the car is idling, but is has never stalled on me. Maybe it needs a tweak of the air bypass screw. The transmission shifts smoothly and the sycros are very good - no grinding. The clutch also engages smoothly and it feels like it has plenty of life left. As far as condition goes the paint is pretty nice for car's age and I have not found any rust on the car. It does have some small bumps and bruises as I tried to identify in the pictures. The interior is very nice. The car has cloth seats which have no stains or rips and overall are in very good condition. The outside bolster on the driver side is wearing a little thin, and the a small length of piping is exposed. The dashboard is absolutely perfect and looks brand new - no cracks or deterioration from the sun. It does have a broken front turn signal lense and the power mirrors are not working. The car has a electonic dash with all gages working - something that is rare for these cars I understand. The on board computer also works as well as the cruise control - which is also rare. The power windows also work without issue. The car does have AC, but it is currently not working. There is no belt or idler going to the compressor. I don't know why it has been disconnected in the past. Maybe with a new belt and idler it would work. Now I need to iderate that this car is NOT A Quattro. The previous owner may have had dreams of a real UR Quattro and affixed the quattro stickers on the trunk and back window. So I have tried to describe the car as honestly as possible. I have put a lot of work into this car and I think it will be a really cool car for someone. It is very rare and I have never seen another one in my area on the road. I am starting to become attached to the car and really do not need to sell her so lowballers - don't waste your or my time. Basically if I don't get what I have in mind for the car, I will just drive it and have fun with it. Also Scammers - don't bother. I know all your slimmy tricks. The car is sold as is and sale is final - no warranties, returns, etc. $500 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close. If deposit is not recieved in 24 hours, the deal is void and I may offer it to the next higher bidder if I am not contacted. The car must be picked up within 1 week or again the deal is void and I keep the deposit unless you contact me and make arrangements. Sorry if this sounds harsh - but I have been jerked around in the past on Ebay - this is just upfront business. I also have the car for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. I am also open to reasonable offers before the auction close. Good luck biding and if you have any questions, please e-mail me. Thanks for looking.
