Vehicle Detail
Available for auction is a 1991 BMW E30 325IC Convertible with rare 5 Speed in Excellent Condition!. This is one of the best examples of the E30 convertible available on the market. With a rare 5 speed, this would make both an excellent sports and every day drivers car. This car also has a manual operated top, eliminating the frustrating and expensive repairs that are required frequently when the electric tops wear out over time. This car is in mint condition, never had any rust or rot. She is very straight and clean, no dings or dents, garage stored and in excellent mechanical condition maintained by a very fussy owner. The reason I'm selling my 325 is because I bought a Porsche 911. This car has a few nice options, it has the BBS Style sport wheels with newer tires, it has the original Center Arm rest option. The heated seats work very well on those colder days. The CD player works and sounds great. I had a custom made car cover for those times when the car needed to sit outside. It has a manual top, which is a plus because it takes seconds to put up and stow away. The cruise control is a very nice option on the highway. The car steers perfectly straight, and handles like its on rails. The differential is limited slip and its in perfect working order with no hums or noises. I have been getting great gas mileage, usually in excess of 26mpg. I even have the original owners manuals, ID and warranty cards that were saved in the original leather folder. I have an original sales window sticker showing all the options, this car sold for $36k new back in 91. I bought this car in 2008 and at the time of purchase, it had 126k miles. At that time, I needed to replace a few worn out items and the entire car was painted because the clear coat was peeling in a few spots.- In 2008 I replaced; New German (Eberspaecher, highest quality) exhaust complete with brackets and hangers, gas rear shocks, Fuel pump (due to noise), New German Convertible top including rubber gaskets and sealers. Over time I also replaced the clutch master and slave cylinders, and brake master cylinders. All fluids were changed after the time of purchase. The rear seat had some splits, so I had it reupholstered in the matching color, it looks great. The clear coat was peeling in a few areas, one area on the hood, and another area on the trunk. The entire car was carefully repainted to ensure a perfect color match with original German paint and the best quality clear coat. Over the last year, I changed or upgraded the some very expensive items; NEW Sachs Clutch Kit. Very expensive to replace, the throwout bearing was making noise. NEW Bilstein Sport Shocks. NEW Heater Blower motor. The old one was wearing out. NEW Windshield and gaskets. NEW Brakes and flushed brake fluid. All Engine Maintenance done; valve adjustment, new sparkplugs and distributor cap and rotor. Caps and rotors are expensive and people usually don;t change them. All NEW Coolant Hoses, Water Pump, Timing Belt and Radiator. The water pump and radiator looked fine, but any alinimum radiator with plastic tanks should be changed in a 20 year old car. These are also very expensive to get done and should be done with the mileage on this car. I replaced these the same time as the clutch. AC works well and is very cool on the most humid days. All NEW Fluids changed again, differential, transmission, coolant and oil of course. There are a couple of minor issues I should mention; The radio does not keep memory for some reason, it does not save the radio stations. There are a couple of very minor scratches on the lower side of the rear bumper that don't show in the pictures. The arm rest has a very minor spit in the vinyl that cannot be seen. The drivers seat left bolster is slightly worn, but is not bad enough to need repair in my opinion. This is a great car that has been carefully maintained over the years. There is a long list of stuff that I have bought for this car over the years that are too long to mention. The car is clean inside and out, and I'm sure will last someone many many years. The car runs and drives like a new car. This is a great example of the classic E30 BMW 325 Convertible with a 5 speed manual transmission.. If someone chooses to 'Buy it Now', I will include a set of 4 original BMW 5 spoke alloys with center caps that were original equipment on this car. These rims will handle 50 series tires. 3 of the rims are in mint condition and have been professionally reconditioned. One alloy has a little curb rash. I included a picture of 2 of the alloys. These alloys will need tires, one tire is pictured, is useable but has a little dry rot. I feel the alloys alone are worth close to a thousand dollars. I would be happy to send additional pictures to a potential buyers email address if requested. Please email any questions or requests. There is no warranty, the car is sold in AS-IS condition, and I am available to answer any questions or take more pictures if asked. Enjoy the auction.
