Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1967 Oldsmobile Toronado Deluxe.. I have owned and loved the car for approximately 5 years, but due to lack of storage space and no time for the car, it is time to find a new owner who can give it the attention it needs. The car has a clean MN title with no liens in place, and sits at approximately 47xxx miles (mileage undocumented). As verified by the VIN, this is a Deluxe model in Sauterne Gold with black vinyl top. The exterior condition is approximately 6/10. The (presumably) original paint has aged well, and still has decent gloss/shine. There are numerous rock chips and small dents around the car, and small amounts of rust at the corners of the doors, however this mostly becomes visible when close to the car. The car will need body work and re-spray to in due time. The hood has numerous small dents that are clearly visible from the front of the car, and look to be classic "left the tools on top of the air cleaner and closed the hood" type dents. The rear chrome bumper is also dented in multiple places; I have a replacement bumper from the previous owner that is in better condition. The tires are new, and have around 200 miles on them, and thus look very good. The front DS tire has a slow leak. The vinyl top is in pristine condition (9.5/10) and really makes the car look awesome. Overall, the vehicle would be considered a solid 20 footer, and many of the issues described above are not clearly visible from 20 feet. Indeed, it turns MANY heads wherever we go, and for a 45 year old car with original paint, really is doing pretty well in that regard. The interior is, generally speaking, in fantastic condition. The seats were refinished by the previous owner, and make the interior look as though it's brand new. The floor mats are in good condition, as are all of the door panels, dash, switches, levers, and knobs. Glass is all clean and clear, with little to no scratches on the side and rear windows. The windshield, presumably original, does have pits of course, as one would expect from a car of this age. The speedometer woks perfectly, as do the rest of the gauges. Heat blows wam air, a/c will need servicing in order to function, thus we have not used it at all since purchasing the car. All 4 power windows worked perfectly until last summer, when the DS rear window gave out and is no longer lowering. Power front bench is in good working order. Radio is a no go, as is the case for most of these cars.Getting behind the wheel, the car starts up easily with a deep, throaty growl. It shifts easily into Reverse or Drive, and after fully warmed up runs like the car should. Occasionally, the car will stutter when running cold (likely a carb tuning issue), but does REALLY well when warm. Going full tilt on the throttle, the sound of the 7 liter v8 explodes into the air, and the car picks up steam quickly for something weighing about 5,000 lbs. Turning is accompanied by the occasional creak and groan at very low speeds, but overall the car runs and drives very well, feeling quite stable at highway speeds as well as in the city. Going for a cruise on a Sunday afternoon is what this car was built for, and in that area it does not disappoint. It feels almost as if you are driving on clouds, as the ride is extremely smooth and compliant, and makes the whole world seem to move a little slower. Here is a list of parts that have been repaired/replaced in the last 500 miles:- New water pump- New radiator fan- New brakes front and rear- New fuel lines- New tires- New batteryListing of items on the vehicle that may or will need servicing:- Paint/body work- Headlights (vacuum operated) don't function without help- Small transmission oil leak- DS front tire slow air leak- DS rear window won't go down- A/C- RadioI have tried to represent the car as accurately as possible within this ad. If you have question, please feel free to contact me. I have MANY more pictures than shown in the ad, and can photograph/take video of other items if you are interested. A $1000 deposit will be required within 48 hours, with the balance due within 7 days. Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements, however I can provide assistance, if necessary. On Aug-17-12 at 19:47:30 PDT, seller added the following information: For sale is a 1967 Oldsmobile Toronado Deluxe..
