Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a 1962 Pontiac Flower car. This is the only 1962 Pontiac ever built into a Flower car. COMPLETELY UNTOUCHED AND ALL ORIGINAL. You can find numerous threads and links about this car on google and other search engines. There are several renderings of what this car would/does look like and several people have been looking for this car over the years....well here it is with no reserve!!! It has basically been hidden for the last 35 years in and out of storage. My father has owned the car for the last 12 years but is now ready to sell it. Stageway and Armbruster spent an additional 10,000 dollars to convert this special ordered Catalina. That is a lot of money back then. They were on their way into producing high end limousines and flower cars for high end funerals including government officials. Flowers were placed in the stainless steel bed. It has the police 389 2bbl engine with turbo hydromatic 3 speed trans. It runs but has not been on the street. Also ordered with heavy duty suspension, larger brake drums, and Kelsey Hayes wheels. The suicide doors are very neat and in the all original interior you will find forward facing jump seats. They fold up so that you can store things when not in use. Factory options include power steering and power brakes. Non a/c. The exterior of the car still has the paint from 1962. The car is very straight. Doors open and close nicely. All the glass is in good coindtiion. the front half of the car is super solid. Unfortuneately the rear part of the car is going to need some repair due to rust issues. The good thing is you can use 1962 Catalina 4 door and 2 door items to repair it so it wont take special fabricating as the bottom end of the car is original 62 Cat stuff. Also included int he auction is a nicer rear bumper and the lower rocker mouldings. Please take some time to research the rareity of this car and spread the word so it gets in the right hands. THIS IS A ONE OF ONE PROTOTYPE THAT IS UNTOUCHED FOR 50 YEARS!! 10,000 ORIGINAL MILES!!!!! DONT MISS OUT. You can call me at 520-548-6158 or 520-405-7112 for any questions. Thanks and good luck bidding on a piece of Pontiac history. This is some information from coachbuilt.com that talks about the car: During the early 1960s Armbruster started building their higher-priced coaches on Pontiac chassis and even built a prototype Pontiac flower car built using a 2-door 1962 Catalina sedan. The unusual car featured the 2-door sedan's roofline and front doors and also included a pair of smaller rear side doors for easier access to the space behind the driver's seat where a pair of forward-facing jump seats were installed even though though the car was not intended to be used as a limousine. The rear side doors didn't include any upper section with windows, and ended at the beltline, making the longer front doors necessary for access to use the jump seats. Instead of an Eastern style deck, the vehicle had an open stainless-steel well similar to the ones found on McClain flower cars and may have been removable as well.
