Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is an all original, excellent condition 1997 Honda Del Sol Si. It has 67,150 miles (could possibly accumulate a couple hundred more but doubtful since it is my 2nd vehicle) and has been taken incredible care of. The title is clean and clear and in hand. The A/C blows cold and the heater works perfectly. This car is in incredible, unaltered original condition and one of the best Del Sol's I have ever seen. I purchased the car in April 2012 from a car dealer who accepted the car as a trade-in. I have driven the car around 1,500 miles since my purchase but it is not very conventional for all of the traveling I do and I am only able to drive it on the weekends now. I find that it is not worth keeping insurance on two cars and I am also trying to save up for a home purchase. This car runs like a dream and shifts smoothly with a perfect clutch. I have read various reviews on Del Sol's that have over 200k+ miles and still run perfectly with all original clutches, transmissions, engines, etc... I have no doubt that this car could as well. It comes with 2 new tires (around 200 miles on them) and 2 fairly newer tires with lots of tread life left (Two with 10/32's, one with 9/32's, and one with 7/32's). Also included are 2 winter tires on a set of brand new steel wheels that appear to only have a couple hundred of miles on them. The car does not pull, shake, and can comfortably run in the 90's on the highway. I do not run my cars hard, but wanted to ensure that the car did not shake or pull on the highway when I first purchased it and took it up to 90 with no trouble. I have no doubt this car could handle a long road trip and have driven it to Chicago area suburbs twice (200 mile trip each way). The targa top does not leak at all and has a solid seal. The targa top fits neatly in the trunk and still leaves plenty of room for other items -- I was able to fit both the targa top and set of 2 winter tires in the trunk with ease. The car does have some minor little door dings & blemishes, as to be expected with a car this age, but they are not overly noticeable. There is a spot on the right rear bumper by the wheel well that does have some scratch marks (previous owner). It is not overly noticeable in pictures or person unless you know about the marks and are looking for them. I have also provided an up-close photo of this to try and give a better picture of what it actually looks like. There is one accident record on the car, which you can find running an autocheck report as well, which required the front bumper to be repainted. That accident was by the previous owner of the car & repaired. The front bumper and surrounding areas are in excellent condition and the paint matches incredibly well. You cannot even tell that the bumper had been repainted. I hate to point out mostly flaws with the car but I want to fully disclose and describe the car I have for sale so there are no surprises. One additional minor matter is that there is a screw that rusted/broke off in the rear license plate holder. I was unable to remove it myself but simply use an adhesive that is safe on auto paint to hold half of the license while a screw holds in the other half. I think you could also have the screw drilled out but I didn't take that step. This car has all original equipment, parts, stereo, etc... I have achieved MPG of around 35 in town, 40 on purely the highway, and usually average around 38 MPG on regular gasoline. This car is incredibly solid and needs nothing, absolutely a turn-key car. The trunk on the car is a surprisingly large & deep size and can fit the two winter tires in it plus the targa top at the same time. Please contact me and I can provide you with a copy of the autocheck from when I purchased the car, give you an estimate of the monthly insurance I pay, and provide any other details in which you may be interested. I am not looking for any type of trade, incredibly low-ball offers, or shenanigans. Please message me if you are a serious buyer and I can provide my phone number to discuss the car more. I have the title in hand will need to receive full payment before the car is either shipped or driven home by you. I do not provide any shipping options but can assist as far as getting the car to a shipper. As a note on the photos: The first photo was taken in July 2012 after I waxed the car: the sun was beginning to go down so the car appears a little darker shade of red but I wanted to emphasize how excellent the car looks after a coat of wax. The other photos were taken recently in August 2012 and show the "true" color of the car during the daytime. If you have any additional questions on photos or would like more photos feel free to message me. Payment: A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours after using the buy it now or best offer option via PayPal to secure the car. The remaining balance will be due within 7 days or upon pickup or before it is shipped out via a certified cashier's check or cash in person (I can definitely work on that time-frame if you are planning on picking it up or need additional time). Please note that this deposit is refundable if you use the buy it now or best offer and come see the car and decide that it is not as I have it listed. It is non-refundable if you make the deposit and then cannot come up with the remaining balance within a reasonable time-frame. I am looking to avoid non-paying buyers and am willing to work with reasonable individuals on deposit amounts & timeframes. Please contact me if you are truly interested! Car is being sold as-is in the condition as described above. Please feel free to contact me with any serious inquiries or questions regarding the car. Thank you.
