This is a rare opportunity to own an expertly tuned example of an iconic and classic BMW. You are looking at an immaculate, beautiful and timeless black on black 1985 M6. If you are in search of a fully stock BMW then this car is not for you. This car has monstrous power that rivals a big block Corvette,or even a Viper, yet it is extremely reliable and bulletproof. While this car can be very tame and drivable in traffic, when you give it throttle, you will be pinned to your seat with an ear to ear grin. It can easily break loose thoseYokahoma AVS racing tires without using the clutch, even in second gear. I am creating this listing for a friend who is not computer savvy. I have seen and driven the car I will be describing and can certainly say that this is one very special automobile. When gazing upon this beast one can't help but step back in awe, it is a simply gorgeous car that looks perfect in every way. It is super clean and the pride in ownership shows. My buddy purchased the car in 1998, with 94,750 miles on it, from a wealthy surgeon who apparently spared no expense for what he wanted out of this car. Below is the description of the original listing from the previous owner. He put only 4000 miles on the car after completion and my buddy has put only 5000 miles on the car in his 14 years of ownership. ENGINE: 4.0 litre twin overhead cam 4 valve per cylinder. Bore and stroke = 95mm x 92mm, 10.75 x 1 compression. Block has been deck platebored 80-lb. angle torqued and plateau honed with primary 120 and finished off 400 for maximum oil flow and compression. Steel billet crank shaft. Pistons, rods, wrist pins and rings balanced to +/- 0.1 gm. Fahey bulletproof hub. Major engine parts have been powder coated. Work has been done by a Formula 1 enginebuilder and machine shop that specializes in racing motors specifically. CYLINDER HEAD: Portedand flowed to accommodate 1mm oversized high performance grade intake andexhaust valves. Double valve spring upgrade. Throttle bodies ported and flowedto 50mm diameter. Trumpets ported and flowed. Five angled valve and seat grind. CAM SHAFT: 272* duration x .452" lift. All new camchains sprockets, guides, etc... Cam shafts have been capped and plugged. NEW ACCESSORIES: Allaccessories have been replaced with new, whether necessary or not; i.e. waterpump, oil pump, BMW factory 1500-pound racing clutch assembly, transmission seals, linkage, Hardy disk, carrier bearing, etc… A new radiator and every possible hose that could be replaced has been replaced with new. Also, new fuel tank. EXHAUST SYSTEM: Stainless steel factory headers with HPC coating go to two 2-1/2” primary pipes which run to a two-in and two-out racing catalytic converter with less than 1% restriction. 2-1/2” pipes out of the catalytic converter to 3” pipe runs to 3” steel pack muffler, 3” pack out of muffler, designed by S.D. Engine Flow Rite, built by Hansen. SUSPENSION: Front torsion bar upgrade. Short Alpina coilspring with Bilstein strut. BMW 750 IL insert and thrust arm bushings. New wheel bearings and new brakes. All new tie rod ends, center link, idler arm,etc…all new. WHEELS AND TIRES: HRE 3-piece 10” wheels. Yokohama intermediate AVS racing tires; 265 x 45 x 17” rear; 240 x 40 x 17” front. Original 3-piece BBS wheels and tires also available in excellent condition. BODY: Black exterior, excellent condition. Black interior,excellent condition with buffalo leather Recaro seats. Stereo has been upgraded and includes a power amplifier. Never smoked in. Paint is beautiful. All chrome and moldings are in excellent condition. Always garaged. In the past 14 years and 5000 miles of ownership my buddyhas performed the following maintanence: -New front sway bar links -new rear struts -New front and rear springs -New water pump -new front shocks -New starter sensor -New door lock cylinders -New guido joint -New Hella headlamps -New fuel tank -New rear main seal -New power steering lines -New rotors, brake pads all around, and all new brake fluid -New wheels, Original BBS included (in excellent condition) - Drain block and install lifetime coolant -New upper radiator switch, temperature sender gauge, fanresister and new fan clutch -Charge A/C system with new refrigerant, blows cold As you can see, this car has been meticulously maintained.
