Vehicle Detail

BRITISH SPORTS CAR WAITING TO BE RESTORED. This is a 1957 Triumph TR3 and will make a great restoration project. The original color was orange. Our intent was to restore the vehicle cosmetically and bring to modern mechanically. It currently has a Nissan/Datsun engine and transmission. Some work has been done including fiberglass floorboard, cosmetic work to the wood dash inserts and body work. The vehicle has been kept in a shop/garage. The mileage is unknown. We have title for the vehicle. The VIN on the Title is TS19191E which is the Engine number. Since we no longer have the Engine, I've included the Chassis number: TS18944L Chassis number for TR3 made from Oct 1955 thru Sep 1957: TS8637 - TS22013Engine number for TR3 made from Oct 1955 thru Sep 1957: TS8637E - TS22013E Please let me know if you have questions. There may be additional details that I can answer and/or send pictures. On Aug-08-12 at 14:35:18 PDT, seller added the following information: BRITISH SPORTS CAR WAITING TO BE RESTORED. This is a 1957 Triumph TR3. Only 13,377 TR3's were produced and approximately 1,700 are thought to remain throughout the world today.* This is a huge find and will make a great restoration project. The original color was orange and purchased by my father in November of 1986 in western Oklahoma. The vehicle has been kept in a shop/garage ever since. The original intent was to restore the vehicle cosmetically and bring to modern mechanically. Therefore much of the "cosmetic" components of the vehicle were saved while mechanical, namely engine/transmission, were trashed. The following components that were saved include but not limited to the windshield, front seats, headlights, exterior trim and hub caps. Mechanical components include but not limited to the the gauges, gas tank and convertible top hardware. It currently houses a Nissan engine and transmission. Other work performed over the years includes a fiberglass floorboard and trunk, cosmetic work to the wood dash inserts and body work. Since much of the mechanical components have been removed, the mileage is unknown. We have title for the vehicle. The VIN on the Title is TS19191E which is the Engine number. Since we no longer have the Engine, I've included the Chassis number: TS18944L. According to VictoriaBritish.com, Chassis number for TR3s made from Oct 1955 thru Sep 1957 are: TS8637 - TS22013 and Engine numbers for TR3s over the same time perioid are: TS8637E - TS22013E. Please let me know if you have questions. There may be additional details that I can answer and/or send pictures. I'm accommodating to the buyer's timeframe for delivery/pick up of the vehicle. *Source: Enthusiast's Restoration Manuel of "How to restore Triumph TR2, TR3 & 3A" by Roger WilliamsOn Aug-10-12 at 13:16:59 PDT, seller added the following information: For what its worth, I added some interior photos and I failed to mention that the steering and suspension is present and working. Underneath there has been undercoating applied.
