Clean California-built pony car that’s never left the state. Great example of a rust-free 65’ Mustang. Just sits in my garage now so I’d rather see it go to a good home with someone who will enjoy it more. Clean CA title in hand ready to sell. I bought it about 2 years from the original family and did some minor work to it since but most of the restoration was done by the previous owners. Original C-code 289-2v with C-4 automatic transmission. Engine runs great, starts right away even if it’s been sitting for weeks, and doesn’t leak any oil. The previous owner told me the drive train was rebuilt about 8 years ago so I’m unsure of the actual mileage. Transmission shifts smooth and has no issues. I had the original carb rebuilt last month and now it idles very smooth and runs amazing. Car has dual exhaust flowmasters with GT rear valance, sounds great! Factory front disc brakes and factory A/C car. The air blower inside the car works well and all the A/C system needs is a new compressor (about $250 on eBay). Stock front disc brakes and suspension in good shape as well. The interior was done a little over a year ago. It included; new carpet, seat upholstery, headliner, dashboard, gauge clusters, glove box, and misc chrome moldings throughout. All 4 windows work great and roll up & down just fine. New door seals, weather-stripping, and window felts. Car has all original glass and body panels. It’s never been in an accident and doors don’t sag like on some mustangs. Everything is tight and lines right up as it should. Car has solid floor pans, frame rails, torque boxes, and trunk pans. The paint is several years old and does have imperfections. It’s not a $5k paintjob but still shines very nice as you can see in the pics. If I decided to keep the car I was going to paint it back it’s original factory shade of red which is poppy red (slightly different than what it has now). I’m sure someone can restore this pony to factory specs and turn it into a show car although I feel like it’s ready to go and can be enjoyed as is. I get thumbs up and turn heads wherever I go!
