As some of you know(and the rest of you should) the earlier cars were plagued with the RR363 based hydraulics that were quite pr1oblematic, and extremely maintenance intensive!!! I've owned 2 mineral fluid Corniche Convertibles personally, a '79 for 7 years, and now an 86 for about 4 years. I have had ZERO hydraulic issues.Both Cars have been basically trouble free with some routine maintenance!! Our 1979 Corniche is quite a Lovely car. Mileage is believed to be original. This car was owned by a long time member of the RROC and RRF. He passed away a few years ago, and the car was just recently inherited by his daughter when the mother passed away. Within the last year and about 1,000 miles, the car was fully sorted by one of the dad's friends so the daughter could enjoy it fully. New front struts/shocks 4 new front brake hoses All 4 front calipers rebuilt Pack front wheel bearings Rebuilt steering rack installed Modern electric auxiliary cooling fan installed A/C Charged with R-12. Blows Ice Cold Fresh oil change and filter with Brad Penn Oil containing zinc Front end alignment Drain and refill differential, and rear axle "Detroit Pots". 4 Brand New radial tyres This car runs and drives fantastic and should again be noted that it is an early "Mineral fluid" car with carburettors. It is one of the nicest driving Rolls Royce's that we have had in a long time. It is cosmetically quite lovely, and I tried to photograph it's flaws. You can tell by the condition of the bright and shiny paint that this Beauty was Always Garaged and Pampered!! Note the Dual exhausts that are another first for the '79 model year! The convertible top is in very nice condition with the rear window being nice and clear! There is the typical flaw at the base of both sides and can be seen in most Corniches of this vintage!! If I didn't point it out, you probably wouldn't have even noticed! In this Photo you can see that the headliner is a tad on the "Droopy" side. Again, quite typical of a 30 plus year old original Corniche! Looks like a moth had a feast at some time in the past! Ahh!!! Open air touring in a Rolls Royce Corniche......Nothing else like it!!! Just Gorgeous!!!! . I believe that this was the most Luxurious Convertible ever built. Everywhere you look there is special attention to detail and craftsmanship!! A few seat belt nicks present in the drivers door wood. Most of these MPW Heel pads are long gone by now!!!! The sumptuous leather interior is in fantastic condition and is certainly commensurate with the low mileage and excellent care our Gorgeous Corniche has seen throughout its 33 year life. The leather appears to be totally original with no dying done anywhere by us. I would guess that the carpets have been covered for most of the last 33 years. They are in very nice condition! The wood on the facia is in lovely condition with only minor flaws here and there. Hard to imagine that this Corniche is original AND is 33 years old! Notice the slight flaw around the A/C Vent! The sound system is quite old, and mediocre. I've decided to leave this "as is" so the new owner can make his /her own decision! Typical slight shrinkage to the top roll. but still nice and flat with no puckering. Again, quite common on older cars with leather dash tops, including Ferraris!!
