This sale is for a Custom Volkswagon Rat Limo NO RESERVE!. This is one of the most photographed cars. AUCTION ENDS MONDAY AUG. 6 AT 1:PM (give or take) PLEASE CHECK EBAY OFFICIAL TIME. DON'T MISS OUT! This car was built more then 30 years ago. The body was put together and was unfinished as a running driving car. It is estimated that 3 to 4 Bugs were the heart in the construction. Many years later the car was found chained to a pole in front of a long closed restaurant in Memphis Tenn while on vacation. It was brought back to Ohio and had undergone a total mechanical restoration by a local Bug shop. Keep in mind. If it is that easy to build everyone would have one. The cars that were used were solid. Solid pans and still has the rear heat channels although are blocked off. There is a tube frame under the body and you or some groovy chicks can stand on the running boards. Very good build. The rain channel goes down the extended rear doors just like it should.Doors open and shut just like the Germans intended. New brakes. New wiring. The attention to detail shows. The fenders were removed and new rubber gaskets were installed. Upgraded interior and even the door glass is the California cut. No vent wings. The car was intentionally left as it was found on the exterior surface rust and all. This is patina that can never be recreated. As you can see it even got tagged with graffiti when it was left to die. The interior is upgraded with all new carpet and headliner. The door panels are aluminum. The dash is original and still sports the original Green paint that the front half of the car wore when new. Has the period Saphire AM radio in the clean uncut dash. The engine is a 1200 and no mods were done (or needed) To tone the looks down to the level of the build used motor oil was poured onto the engine. Looks old and wore out just like you would expect to see.When you drive it you know nothing is farther from the truth. Engine runs great and has plenty of power. Car cruises nice on the highway at 70mph and is rock solid on the road. It handles very well. It does not rattle. Two non standard VW options include the installed hitch and trailer wiring plus a cell phone charger. Hey its 2012. This car has mass appeal that you cannot believe. To the people who love cars to the people who don't know anything about them. Everyone goes wild when they see it. Plan on making friends when you roll as they will follow you around everywhere just to get a look at it. This car would make a killer advertising piece.
