Vehicle Detail
I have my 1996 GMC Sierra 1500 extended 4x4 truck for sale. This tuck will make a great work truck or hunting truck. The truck has 152,000 miles on it, and it runs good. I have a very low reserve because of the work that needs to be done to make it 100%. It has many new parts including 33x11.5x16 MTR tires. I'm selling because I purchased a new Suburban for my growing family, and I am not using this truck any more, It has been about three months since daily use. I do still drive it to the store and back at least once a week. It has been my work truck, so it has some light signs of use and age, but it runs and looks great for its age. I will have a list at the bottom of what I have done and what needs to be done. I have put over $2800 in new parts in just the last 1,000 miles or so. I also have a repair manual for it. So here's the good. It runs, always starts, does not burn oil, and there are no leaks. The 4wheel drive works, as does the automatic transmission, All of the buttons work inside i.e. cruse, 4x4 and gages. It is 99% rust free only very light dusting on the frame and one small spot on the corner of the hood (see pic). I have just replaced a lot of parts and put a lift kit and brand new tires on it. The lift kit was professionally installed. I just ordered new shocks, brake pads and rotors. I will have them on before the end of auction. The last owner had the motor rebuilt at 120,000 miles and runs very strong. It gets about 20mpg Hwy and 16mpg City. It also has an upgrade stereo with CD. As you can see I have been replacing with top of the line parts. The not so good. Because this was a work truck, it has some paint scratches. There is a small dent in the left rear fender and looks like there was body damage there before (see pic). It also has a broken door handle on the passenger door and tailgate. The handles works, but the handle frame is broken. These are cheep and easy to fix. The doors need new bushing these are very cheap and easy to install. The interior is in good shape but the front seat handle is cracked and the passenger inside door handle is a little loose. The front seat has some rips in the side vinyl on the driver side seat. Tinting is getting old and starting to peel. Now for the bad. The check engine light goes on and off randomly. Not sure what it is might be a bad sensor. The A/C has a leak in one of the hose fittings but the A/C guy at the shop I had the lift installed at said it should work fine once fixed and charge. You can do this yourself for very little. It needs front lower ball joints and alignment. The transmission works but is showing signs of its age. It will need replacing within 6 to 12 months, sooner maybe if in mountains or towing. I was going to do the ball joint and tranny next. The good thing is once these are taken care of it will be like a new truck with many years of reliability as far as the power train. If you are mechanically inclined this should only cost you about $750 for the whole job and a weekends time. Things I have done in the last 1,000 miles or so. · 16” Aluminum wheels from 2002 and new 33” MTR’s tires $1200 · Lift Kit $600 · Off-Road shocks $200 · Battery Interstate $120 · 4wheel actuator $110 · Idle and PVC valve $80 · Throttle sensor $50 · Brakes rotors and pads $200 · K&N air filter $75Major serves $350High grade oil, K&N oil filter, Lucas oil treatment, Tran fluid, Trans filter, Seafoam trans treatment, Power steering fluid, Seafoam P/S treatment, Fuel filter, Lucas fuel treatment, New coolant, Spark plugs and more. Things that need to be done to bring back to 100%. · Ball joints and alignment $100-400 (Depends if do it yourself or have a shop do it) · Transmission rebuild or replace $500-1,000 (Depends if do it yourself or have a shop do it) I've tried to list everything I can remember about the truck, As you can tell I am very honest and up front kind of guy. With that said there is NO WARRANTY on this truck. It's a good truck that runs good, had always been a dependable truck but needs some attention. I have clear title in hand. I will help in any way I can with shipping. If you're in Denver CO area you're welcome to email me and come see the truck. Also, if you have any questions, please email me. There will be a $200 deposit due at the end of auction within 24HR. This is non-refundable to cover listing and re-listing fee's. Do not bid unless you understand this.
