Vehicle Detail

1962 Ford Thunderbird Back up due to an unpaying buyer... Selling my tbird at a big lo$$ to make room. This car is extremely clean and rust free. It is a very original car with only 53k miles on it and I am the second owner of the car. Paint is 6 years old and is not perfect but shows very well (exterior only, the door jambs, under the hood and trunk are original to save the original stickers and maintenance log). 18" Dayton (one lug knock offs) and new Nitto tires. All new upholstery (seats, dash (dash, headliner, carpet). Bumpers front and back. In the last six months I have replaced the entire braking system (pads, springs, drums, booster, master, and some of the lines...at a cost of over 1K$). I have also replaced the shocks front and rear with new monroe sensa-shocks. Heater is all there but not connected, AC works but is minimal, power seats and power steering. I have, and will include the original wheels, hubs and bias ply tires. I also have the original mufflers in great shape if you wanted to switch them back from the side exhaust. The car runs and drives great with tons of new or reconditioned parts. I have just under 12k (yes, twelve thousand dollars) invested in this car. Its not perfect but it will not take much to be. My loss to make some room and pay some bills. No lowball offers or emails. If it doesn't sell I'll drive it for the summer and sell it next year. I can send you pictures of anything you would like including the maintenance log in the door jamb showing the mileage. This car has had NO (ZERO) weld in floors, quarters, or anything else. The only exterior part that is not original to the car is the hood. It has never had any rot or rust and was special ordered for Ivan Galamian (a world famous violinist) and I still have his special order door plate. He drove the car from 1962-1980 and kept it as his summer car in Westport NY where it was garaged in the winters (he lived in NYC for the winters). Ivan died in 1981 and the car sat until I bought it. I don't believe that the "famous" ties increases the value of the car but it does show the history and should reflect on how well it was taken care of. Feel free to ask questions or request more photos. If I can find a lift, I will take some undercarriage pictures. They will not dissapoint. Overall the car needs a little work to be a show car but all of the hard (and expensive) work has been done. Or it can be driven and enjoyed just the way it is. It is strong, fun, classy and gas mileage is really not bad at all (better than my new truck..) If you would like to see the car, or send someone to see the car email me with a phone number so we can schedule it. Ask questions and I will answer. Shipping is up to the buyer. Shipping company, or pick it up in person after the final amount is paid. I also have no problem shipping to other countries as long as you are taking care of the details. $500 non refundable deposit due at auction end. As far as picking up the car I will work with the buyer in any way I can. It is garaged and can stay that way until it is picked up (within reason). The engine was taken down to the block and new gaskets were installed. The has been no "bore over" or performance parts added. The engine was clean and we used all of the original parts minus the carb which is included but needs a rebuild. It was replaced with a new Edelbrock 600 4 barrel which is 10X the carb that the original ford/holley ever was. All of the fluids have been changed this year. The seats are original. The padding and upholstery were replaced when the car was painted. The same for the new dash and carpet. Its an original 53k mile car and it shows. The paint is not perfect and has had touch ups over the years (nothing major and nothing that can be seen from 5+ feet). Overall nothing drastic. I am nitpicking to describe the car the best I can so no one is dissapointed thinking that its a pristine 20K SEMA show car. It is priced low at a loss to me and well under book value for a quick sale. Please email with any further questions or provide a phone number and I will call you.
