Furthermore, the CLK offers adequate head- and legroom for real adults, not like Jag's hyper-elegant, but admittedly cramped XK8. In spite of the CLK's steeply raked rear window, there is indeed passable room for people over the age of 11, along with a large, well-shaped trunk. This CLK430 is packing Mercedes worthy 4.3L/275-hp SOHC V-8. This V-8 version has a more-aggressive rocker panel treatment, a great looking set of 17-in. AMG alloy wheels, and more performance-oriented tires to go with them.. This CLK had many strong suits, but its strongest may be high-speed cruising. At 80 mph this thing is just warming up. At 100, it hunkers down and asks for more. At a buck twenty, you finally figure out that you're really rolling and that its high-speed stability is exceptional. Wind noise is commendably low, communication with the road is excellent, and the five-speed transmission will still deliver a 5-4 downshift at well over 100 for some pretty impressive passing ability. The CLKs interior is handsome to look at and beautifully finished. The front buckets ride on a motorized track that moves them forward when the seatback is tilted forward, to ease rear-area entry/exit; flip the seatback rearward, and the seat is supposed to slide back to its original position. There is more than adequate trunk space. Don’t let the miles fool you, this car runs and drives beautifully. The car has just undergone a service and has NO dash or warning lights on. The car drives straight and true, her air conditioning is ice cold, the convertible top works perfect and new cables were just installed. All the functions work as they should.
