Up for sale is my 1982 Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel103xxx miles, 50mpg, runs great. I bought it off of some old guy who had it sitting on his farm for 10 years or so,towed it home, tore it apart,and had the motor gone over by a certified VW mechanic.Me and my grandad comletely redid the interior which is now red with red,white, and blue plaid. I installed a Pioneer head unit, and a MTX road thunder subwoofer. Moving on to the exterior...The car was originally a metallic grey, which we sanded off and resprayed the car an off-white custom mixed by my grandad (a professional painter). It wasnt a 1 day paint job either. The doors, hood, and hatch were removed so the door jams could be painted.the stripe across the bottom of the car is paint, not a sticker. There are only a few problem areas in the paint. The front valance is stonechipped from me driving it to YSU and back every day. Mechanically the car runs great, although it is a tiny diesel from the 80s so its not quite up to the standards of a new car. Its slow, and a little bit loud, but the mileage is completelyworth it. i never average less than 48mpg, and on long freeway trips it gets 51+. the gas gaugeis stuck below empty, so i set the trip mileage when i fill up. you can do 400-450 miles on a tank.the only reason Im selling it is because I bought an 84 gas rabbit that i want to restore.
