Vehicle Detail
This car is being re-listed. The auction ended with the car selling for $17,100.00. The buyer was unable to follow through with the sale. Please read the Ebay rules regarding bidding. I need to sell the car for several financial reasons, so PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THIS CAR IF YOU CAN NOT FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE PURCHASE. I have lowered my price, so the winning bidder can install new tires. Purist need not read any further! Up for sale is this very respectable driver MGA. It is a very solid MG that was constructed with driving in mind. It also shows well. Lets start out with the engine and drivetrain. The 74 MGB GT 1800 engine runs great. It has electronic ignition, with a new 13 row oil cooler and spin off filter. The engine was rebuilt in the past, and runs smooth with good oil pressure and correct temperature readings. The transmission is also out of an early MGB. The clutch is good and a new slave cylinder, hoses, and supply line are installed. Drive shaft is also MGB. First gear is not synchronized. Electrical system has been changed over to negative ground. There is also a new Lucas alternator. The wiring harness is new , and the head lights have been upgraded to halogen bulbs. There is an on board battery tender and new battery installed. Cooling system has had the radiator pressure tested, cleaned, and a new core installed. Heater has been bypassed for the summer. The suspension is all MGB. New springs and bushing are on the rear and the front spindles are disk brake MGB. New outer tie rods are also installed. The MGB rear end has had new outer axle bearings, and oil seals installed. The exhaust is a new polished stainless unit from Moss Motors. The interior is a new Moss deluxe black kit with red piping. Carpeting is a new black loop kit and the the tunnel and fire wall have been insulated underneath. Radio is not included with the car, but can be for additional cost. It has a CD ,dvd, mp3, remote, and tilt up screen function. New Robins top Brakes have new MGB rear pads, wheel cylinders, front rotors, hoses, and all lines. The master cylinder was rebuilt. The body was stripped and repaired with the following work done. Replacement inner and outer rocker panels, and A and B pillars installed. Trunk floor had some resin coating repair work in the past, It is in sealer. The body was from a 1962 MKII. The rear tail lights have been welded closed in favor of the more pleasing 61 tail light combination. Fenders were from a 1957,and1958 Coupe. So were the doors and trunk lid. The frame was also from a 1957. It was cleaned repaired and painted with rust preventative paint. The car is titled as a 1957 MGA. The car is painted with a PPG Base coat, clear coat product. Chrome is a combination of new and older replacement. Tires have very good tread, but are older with some cracking. As I stated previously I have lowered the price of the car as compensation for new tires, balancing, and alignment. This car is Pa. Inspected. It is sold as is with no warranty. The MGB drive train and suspension make this a much better ridding car than the stock MGA. If you live near Pittsburgh this car is the marque car for the up coming Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. It was a body off build. Email for more photos and questions.
