He was only able to dive it a few times before a physical setback prevented him from driving. After that his mother and other caregivers drove him to doctor appointments and other outings. This van has always been garaged and is in near perfect condition! The interior and exterior are clean and shiny. This van has NOT been detailed and is this clean from being very well cared for and very little use. The following are some of its highlights: ** Fully automatic side door openers ** Fully automatic wheelchair lift ** Lowered floor to increase head clearance and ease of use ** EMC Computerized Control System (See: http://www.emc-digi.com/) with touch-screen for all vehicle operatins ( wipers, headlights, turn signals, horn, transmission shifting, etc) ** EMC Joystick Drive: Left/right movement of the joystick, moves the steering wheel accordingly. Pulling the joystick rearward causes accelleration, moving the joystick forward applies the brakes. ** Complete set of owner's manuals, installation manuals, etc. **The driver's seat is easily removeable so that a wheelchair-bound person can drive from their wheelchair. A simple lever on the underside of the steering column engages and disengages the joystick drive. ** A remote control is included to open the side doors and raise and lower the wheelchair lift. There is also a control pad at the base of the passenger side seat that operates the doors and lift. ** The display and Joystick drive are easily movable ** An EZ Lock system (See: http://www.ezlock.net/) is installed under the driver's seat to safely lock in the wheelchair in the driving position. This same system locks in the driver's seat. ** Head clearance inside is approximately 59" You will not be disappointed with this van! I have worked with disabled individuals for more than 30 years and sell high-tech manual and motorized wheelchairs for a living. For the past 10 years, I have bought and sold wheelchair vans as a hobby - since I meet so many people that need them. I know how important these vehicles are to the people that need them and try very hard to make sure that the vehicle and the buyer are a good fit. This van would be ideal for a person with a spinal cord injury, MS, Musular Dystrophy, etc. that cannot otherwise drive using a standard steering wheel, shifter, turn signals, etc. As a disabled driver, you will need training and appropriate licensing to legally drive it. I am NOT qualified to train anyone on its use, but can of course show you how everything works.
