Vehicle Detail

This 1997 GTS Viper was sold new in late 1997 and I have owned it since 1999. I purchased it as a lease through my company for tax reasons, then bought it at the end of the lease, but his is only a two owner car. This is one of the fastest Dodge Viper on the streets of Phoenix with 545 rear wheel horse power, Center Force clutch, aluminum flywheel for quick throttle response and pulling top end much quicker than stock, 373 gear ratio to pull through the gears like you have never felt before. Headers, 3" exhaust, this car has been voted the best sounding exhaust because of the deep throaty sound it produces; click on this link to hear the exhaust http://s1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc373/DFitz6/?action=view¤t=IMG_0784.mp4 This car has been featured at the Famous Barrett Jackson Car auction and was voted by popular support one of the the top two Vipers of the 50 Vipers on display. This car has be extremely well taken care of, I waxed it each day it saw the road, all the paint you see is original except front nose; it has been repaired from my early days' learning how low to the ground these things are, LOL. Notice all the details painted on other parts of the car like where the door handles are, the vents in the hood, wipers and front trim at the bottom of the windshield and we installed the gills in the side air vents; all these were painted red to give the car a smooth clean look. I'm not afraid of driving this, i'm just very, very particular how my car was taken care of, nothing was ever overlooked. You will find a blemish here or there, but they are too small to notice unless someone showed you. The interior features custom red leather on both doors, dash and center cover, Red Viper logos and strips in the racing seats complete with 4 point harness. This is a much nicer look than all black. The HRE three piece 18" wheels are very strong and light weight. The front fog lights are cracked however those are in the process of being replaced and will be included in the price. The car has 64,000 miles on it and the motor has about 8,000 miles on it thanks to the dealer forgetting to add oil to the engine when I had it serviced. Call for more information, serious inquires only please, David 480-688-8217 On Jul-17-12 at 23:41:41 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention, a brand new (still in the unopened box) HRE front wheel is included in the price to replace the front wheel with road rash on it. I have spent years designing race / street cars to get the most out of them and still being able to drive them on the street. For some reason when people try to make their car go faster they only focus on the motor. Look at all the other adds, they all concentrate on HP "HP this and HP that"; none of them talk about getting the HP to the ground!!! With cars like this (big cubic inch) I try to keep the motor stock for reliability, being able to pass emissions, (failed emissions once because I needed a new gas cap) and being able to run regular pump gas. If you add smoothy tubes, headers and 3" dual exhaust to make the car breath better, you will increase HP without sacrificing reliability. Adding an aluminum flywheel will help the motor rev quicker and pull top end much harder since it is not having to spin an extra 50 lbs or so at the crank. Shaving 50lbs at the crank is like taking 500 lbs off the car, it makes a huge difference. Adding an aluminum flywheel adds tons of performance and the basic motor is still stock. I also installed a center force clutch to make sure the power sticks and not slips! Dropping the gear ratio from 307 to 373 is the single best thing you can do to plant the power to the ground. A stock Viper mathematically has a top end of 300 MPH in 6th gear at 6,000 RPM. We all know a stock motor will never achieve this speed. In 5th gear the car will top out at 185 MPH, when you shift into 6th gear the car slows down, it can't pull 6th gear. However, with 373 gears the car tops out in 5th gear at 167 MPH then when shifted into 6th gear this car pulls very hard, then about 175 MPH in sixth gear the car sits down and starts pulling violently. You think you just hit boost on a turbo car. As fast as you can go from 0-100mph, you will go 100-200mph. Combining all of these little things, you can have a car that will pin you in your seat, reach speeds of 200 MPH + and still get 21 mpg HWY and pass emissions...........Its great!!!!!!!! Buy this car and go to your friend home who has a 650 Hennessy and drop his jaw as you pull away; it's not how much HP you have, it's HOW you USE what you have!!!!!! Almost forgot; this car also has a Ron Davis radiator to keep things cool. Contact me for any detailed questions you many have, I can take photos / videos of anything you want and send them to you.
