Up for auction is a 1966 13 window Volkswagen Bus. The bus is in decent shape but does need a TOTAL restoration. First I'll tell you about the rust. The cargo area has been cut out and trimmed for the new floorpanels, which are included. The 3 middle I-beams have been installed but not welded in as seen in the pics. Other replacement panels include RF floorpan, front and rear crossmembers, front and rear outriggers, cargo area front/rear lower pillars, LR lower corner sheetmetal, left lower rocker panel (screwed on but not welded), jacking points front/rear, and various filler panels. I decided not to weld the panels in as I figured the person who won the auction would want to do the work themselves. Plus, Its easier access to the frame rails to clean them up. If the winning bidder chooses, I can weld in all the panels for an additional fee. The roof is in very good shape, straight, only showing surface rust. Body and doors are in decent cond. only small patches needed in a couple areas. The bus does have a complete interior (all seats present) but of course needs recovered and poss. new int. panels. The engine is complete but does not currently run (it does spin freely though). I'm not exactly sure the size (1500-1600 ?). I believe a complete tune-up, carb cleaning, gas tank change, etc... could poss. have it moving under its own power again. Drivetrain is complete but don't know the cond. of the transaxle. All glass is there and in good shape but of course it'll need all new weatherstripping. I'm sure I've missed something so if you have any questions please contact me.
