Vehicle Detail
I TOOK A LOT OF DETAILED SHOTS OF THIS CAR. ALSO, I'M SURE MILEAGE IS MORE THAN WHAT IS STATED BUT ENGINE DOES NOT SMOKE, RUNS FANTASTIC. I'M A COLLECTOR WITH A L O T OF CARS AND DON'T HAVE ROOM FOR THEM ALL ANYMORE. SELLING ABOUT 6 OF THEM. 1950 Pontiac Silver Streak 8 Cylinder Flathead This car is a survivor and it’s all there. I’m a private collector of muscle cars and over the years have acquired some cars other than muscle cars that no longer have an interest in. I will be listing several of them this month. I have a clear Wisconsin title in MY name. Also, this car does not leak anything. I believe this car was never in an accident, frame has surface rust and no rust through or bends. Goes down road straight as an arrow. You can see more pix at www.Grumpys-Garage.com I was going to rod this car out but it’s too original to mess with. This car would be GREAT for a father and son, grandson restoration. You could drive it while it’s being restored. The car runs and shifts up and down through all three automatic speeds like it’s supposed to. The party I got it from in Milwaukee several years ago, used to drive it from Milwaukee to the Iola, WI car show every year. I personally wouldn’t do that with any of my cars, not even a full blown rotisserie restored car. I would suggest using a car trailer if you buy her. All of the dash gauges work, except the fuel gauge is a little slow coming up. Speedometer and odometer all work fine. Lights all work as well as directionals, horn, and heater motor. This is a 6V car that was never converted, as I said it’s all stock. I just purchased a new battery for her as well as installed a newly rebuilt fuel pump. The diaphrams went out on the old one from sitting. The brakes are good and I just topped off the master cylinder, which doesn’t leak, nor do the wheel cylinders. (and yes the wheel cylinder bleeders will open) (Master cylinder was new remanufacturered from Kanter. I had the rear bumper re-chromed years ago but it’s started to show signs of slight pitting as the rest of the chrome is. The stainless is all good. There are 3 extra hubcaps, brand new never installed carpeting and well as the lower quarter fender gravel guards, all in the trunk. I have a shop manual that I purchased for car as well. There are also brand new sill plates that were never installed that I planned on putting on after I redid interior which I never did. $140 The door panels were re-done by previous owner with blue fabric and don't look so hot! The armrests for her are in the trunk. All this being said, this is a good ALL THERE un-hacked car that runs right down the road. The floor had some small holes up in front that the previous owner tried to patch up with sheet metal. The back floors, trunk, frame rails etc are all in great shape. The underneath of the car as only surface rust on the frame etc. The treads on the tires look like new all the way around. The passenger side door glass was cracked when I bought it so I replaced it with new glass ($125). There is a very small crack/chip on the driver’s side windshield portion. The ornament on the hood actually used to light up when the running lights were on but the bulb must be out. Someone should enjoy this car instead of me starting it and driving it once a year then putting her back to inside storage. Goes down the road straight. The only bad part of this car is the interior. It’s shot. If I were to keep it and restore it I would redo the headliner, seat covers, door panels, the works. I just covered the seats with some throws so it would be presentable. The body is REAL clean. Someone put a repaint on her that could be buffed out to get quite a bit of shine out of the paint. I believe it has a Fulton sunvisor that may be original as well as a Guide brand magnifier on the dash board. I believe these were used so the driver would have a better view of stop lights because of the sunvisor being installed. The heater ducts also heat the back seat area as well, I saw them under the car when I had it up in the air. This car comes with no warranty and is being sold as she sits at my farm in Friendship, WI. You must arrange for your own pickup or delivery of this car. Shipping is up to you. You can come and see her if you give me some advance notice and call me at 847-489-1672 Dave
