Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is this beautiful 72, Pantera that was owed by the same person since 1981 (he was the second owner). He worked out of the country most of his life and rarely drove the car so I know the mileage is original. He spent more time working on the car and having things done to it, than drive it. The car has been sitting in his garage since his passing and it is time to move it along to someone that will appreciate it. Here is what I know about the car: It has be professionally re-painted by Newport Restorations here in Southern California. The engine has been rebuilt at aproximately 33,000. It had a leaking head gasket and so while the engine was out, he had it rebuilt mostly to have all new seals and parts. He had different heads put on at that time. He also had the ring & pinion in the transaxle changed to a 5.13 in stead of the standard 4.86 ( I think these are the correct #'s). The engine also had a new carb, aluminum intake, headers, hi-flo water pump, Centerforce clutch & pressure plate added, etc. at the same time. As you can see by the pictures, the car has different wheels & tires 225/45 ZR17 in front & 335/35 ZR17 in back. They were the last thing he did to the car as far as I can tell from the notes and receipts. It has stainless steel water lines and reservoirs. Here are the things that I see that need attention: 1. there is a small scratch in the passenger door. I have all the paint necessary to reshoot the door if the scratch won't buff out. He got this paint when the car was re-painted. The radiator seems to have a leak on one side and has some buildup where it was leaking (see picture). The drivers seat seams has let go (see picture). The radio was in the process of being replaced, but it was not completed (see picture) I believe there is a new radio in a box in the garage but I haven't found it yet. The clutch master cylinder has gone bad. There is a new one with the car but it was not installed. The car has been sitting for 3 years. I put in new gas & oil and it fired up but will not idle. I am sure the carb will need to be rebuilt. The battery doesn't want to hold a charge. I think that is everything I can think of. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and I will respond ASAP.
