I will be Fair, Accurate, and Responsible!BID WITH CONFIDENCE! 1993 Geo Metro XFi Hatchback CLICK ON PICTURES TO ENLARGE click On picture for next, click Off picture to close Description Up for bid is a 1993 Geo Metro XFi Hatchback with 179861 Miles. CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO OF CAR .I will be adding a new video of me driving the car...so you can see my sweet driving skills.Car includes Haynes repair manual and comes with various parts pulled off another Geo Metro. I will get to those later in the description. The car still drives and shifts well. However brakes, rotors, and brake lines must be replaced before driving. Will also need new tires. Oil doesn't leak from the engine, but I did replace the oil pan gasket and bolt about two years ago. I also replaced the fuel pump for the sake of gas mileage. I replaced the air filter about 3 years ago, so the owner might want to purchase a new one. I had the alternator rebuilt about a year and a half ago. Replaced the thermostat about 6 months ago with complete coolant flush. Ok..the nitty gritty. As I said the engine runs and the car drives. However, there is something in the car that drains the battery. I disconnected the battery every time I would go to work and reconnect it to get home. Never gave me any trouble and I did it for over two years. I'm from TENNESSEE, what can I say? When you are driving at say 15MPH...the battery indicator light is dimly lit. However, once you go up to say 45 MPH, it goes away.I had the alternator rebuilt and the car still does it. The fuse is always left in the engine code slot it is a code 12... which indicates the engine is running correctly. So this leads me to believe it's a short. If you have questions about the frame, please look at the pictures. There are also good pictures for the underbody and suspension. As you can see there is rust on this car. Also, notice the pictures of the 10 inch slash in the car body above the rear driver side wheel well. Also some rust on the doors, suspension, and frame. Please feel free to email me for specific questions. Also, the ignition is drilled out . No KEYS.Must be started with a screw driver. The plastic parts are missing around steering column, but they are with the car. I removed them when I was looking for the short. Also, both doors have a problem with the handles. The driver side indoor and outdoor handle are broken. The passenger side can be open and closed fine but you can tell the handles are starting to stick. I have replacement parts that I pulled off another Geo Metro. Check the pictures for all the parts. The windows roll up a little off cantor. I have pictures of the windows specifically rolled up, so you can see what I mean. The brake lines, brakes, and rotors must be replaced on this car. That is why I stopped driving it. I just haven't had the time to fix it. Also, the tires are unevenly worn so one will probably need an alignment. Will need new tires. Wires sticking out on some. There is an interior panel missing above the rear driver wheel well. I think I still have it. I will have to check. No radio. I disconnected it when i was looking for the short. The speakers in the car don't work but I have quite a few included that I pulled off another Geo Metro. They work. The car is loud. The muffler is disconnected in the middle.I cut off the old bad muffler pipe and replaced it with a solid piece. Needs welded. Also, if you notice the muffler itself is rusted and missing the tail pipe. One headlight is out but I have two that come with the car. one seatbelt in the backseat is stuck. the hood has a dent. It secures loosely but securely. Most of these cars have this dent. I think it was a problem with the hood securing. If you notice the hood there is one latch missing to swing it open. Has new spare and includes jack. Parts include..........rear taillights assembly(left and right and middle backup brake light)),two headlights, coolant hose, RADIATOR with fan and hoses, 2 starters(one works not sure about the other), one alternator, starter solenoid, exterior fuse box, 4 rims(3 matching, 1 different...still geo metro rim),many various fuses and sensors, 2 tires on rim(tires are rough), exterior/interior handles with wires. I think i only have one exterior handle. Will have to check the pictures. If i have missed any parts in the pictures, I apologize. However, if the parts are in the pictures they come with your winning bid! I noticed the vehicle drivers report. If the car was in an accident I could never tell..I would look at the picture of the front bumper by the headlight and the slash...maybe that is the accident damage. I put over 30000 miles on this vehicle. When I bought it, no one could get it to start. I replaced the fuses located in the exterior fuse box. Everyone said they had been checked. The car fired right up and I have been driving it every since. I used it to drive to work and I kept the oil and filter changed. As you can tell from the tires I didnt do anything else. That is two years of sweet gas saving on those tires. Think of it like this....Everyone else is paying 3.30 a gallon....You get double their gas mileage....so you are essentially paying $1.65 gallon. A few things we noticed about the car. Rear left taillight is out. Middle brake light is out in center of hatchback window. Also, the interior light does not work. Will need replacement bulbs.Buyer was impressed out how the car ran and shifted. This is a diamond in the rough! I urge for all prospective to come take a test drive. If not able to...Please view the second video provided in the updates. Thank youOn Jun-27-12 at 16:57:55 PDT, seller added the following information:I forgot to mention in previous update. Upon inspecting the car with a bidder we noticed that BOTH seatbelts in the backseat DO work!On Jun-28-12 at 15:39:34 PDT, seller added the following information:For better clarification....The car is able to be driven however, I would highly recommend that the brake lines, brakes, and rotors be replaced before driving. It can be driven with the emergency brake...But it's a complicated maneuver(shifting and hand braking). The master cylinder is operational on the vehicle. For this reason, no plates will be provided for winning bidder to transport the vehicle. I do not want to be responsible for someones safety if driving away in the car is your preference rather than towing it.On Jun-29-12 at 21:21:47 PDT, seller added the following information: Froo www.froo.com | Froo Cross Sell, Free Cross Sell, Cross promote, eBay Marketing, eBay listing Apps, eBay Apps, eBay Application On Jun-30-12 at 05:34:52 PDT, seller added the following information: *PLEASE READ* I have received a responses about the model of the car. It is my understanding it is not an XFi. The vehicle should be a base model. The XFi reads differently in the VIN and the the Lsi has the split rear seat. This model only fits two in the back. I apologize for the misunderstanding. Tried updating item description, but it's too late in the process. On Jul-01-12 at 22:20:13 PDT, seller added the following information: ------**PLEASE READ:IMPORTANT ITEM UPDATE**------ DUE TO PREVIOUS POSTING MISSED BY SOMEThis vehicle is NOT AN XFI. It is a BASE MODEL. Metro Base ModelThe Metro base model was more upscale than the XFi. It listed A/C, and Automatic transmission as options not available on the XFi. It also had standard features like body side molding and a passenger side mirror which were options on the XFi. It had a more powerful engine, six more horsepower to be exact, rated at 55 horsepower. This was accomplished with a slightly higher lift camshaft and a computer programmed for power as well as economy. THE CAR IN THIS LISTING IS MANUAL AND HAS NO A/C. ------**PLEASE READ:IMPORTANT ITEM UPDATE**------
