This is my 1966 Ford Mustang Hardtop Coupe in White with 87,276 original miles. This is a superbly clean, beautiful, original, straight and clean car. This is a very straight, beautiful, outstanding example of a V8 first-generation Mustang. This car has the 289 V8, automatic transmission, power steering, deluxe Pony interior and front disc brakes. This is a great fun Mustang to enjoy and have fun. It doesn't need any work, and it is ready to drive, display or just to keep in the garage until a nice day. This car is from North Carolina, where is wasn't exposed to salt or snow. I can trace the history of this car back three owners and approximately 35 years. The car was driven from new in 1966 up until 1979, when it was put away in storage for 20 years with only 58,000 miles on it. In the late 90s the car was brought out and fully restored. The engine and transmission were rebuilt, the car was painted and the new Pony interior was installed. In 1999 the car was sold to a buyer here in OH, where it has had two owners and has been driven an average of about 2700 miles a year for a current total of 87,276 miles. During the car's time in OH it has always been garaged and never winter-driven. The car has been carefully maintainted and kept in top condition. The paint and body on this car are simply gorgeous. The body panels are straight, clean and in beautiful condition. The paint is a superb high-quality job that looks beautiful. This car is solid, straight and beautiful from top to bottom. The underside is completely clean and in beautiful condition- I cannot overstress how clean and solid the underside of this car is- you could not hope to find a cleaner, more rust-free underside. The chrome and stainless trim are in very good condition. As mentioned, the Deluxe (Pony) interior is new (replaced during the restoration) and it is in very good condition. There is very little, if any wear and it is clean and in very nice condition- please view the photos. The car rides on brand new Mustang chrome wheels, with redline tires that have approximately 50 miles on them. This is a great-running, great driving car that needs nothing. It starts, runs and drives great. The car is quick, responsive and handles well. There are no fluid leaks, and the car doesn't overheat or misbehave in any way. There is no known reason you couldn't take a long trip in this car, or even drive it every day if you wanted to. This car is a pleasure to drive. It sounds great, and starts, stops and steers very well. Everyone on the road loves this car- you will be stopped all the time with people wanting to ask questions. The exhaust is a true dual Flowmaster system that sounds great. It has just the right amount of V8 rumble. I have a large stack of records and receipts for work done by the past two owners during the last 11 years or so. Some of the work done and parts replaced include the following: new hoses and gaskets, new thermostat and water pump, new radiator, new tie rods and control arms, new windshield seals, all-new front disc brake conversion including new front spindles, proportioning valve, master cylinder and full brake job, new starter, new ignition system, new Edelbrock Performer Series carburetor, new rear sway bar, new suspension handling package, new u-joints and new fuel pump, new wheels and tires, plus a full high-quality stereo system and CD changer, just to name a few. All the panel gaps line up perfectly and there is no sign or indication that this car has been in any accidents, ever. Remember that this is a 46-year old car and as such it isn't perfect. Please expect normal issues of wear and tear consistent with the age of the car. Here is a list of all known defects or problems with the car- there are 3 small dings in the hood. The right hood hinge has been repaired. There are small defects and chips, normal wear, etc in the paint and body. There is some light clatter in the front suspension over bumps in the road. The ignition system appears to be set up in such as way that there is no spark until the key is released after cranking the starter. This takes just a minute to get used to- the car starts every time. The stereo system is obviously a very high-quality unit with very nice Inifinity speakers, custom kick panels and a CD changer in the trunk- I just don't know how to get it to work or turn on.
