Vehicle Detail
1969 Ford Ranchero 500 This is the last one of my collection I plan on listing on here. Two cars sold last week, and I have listed the final two this week. This is my ’69 Ranchero. I bought this car about a year ago from a guy who moved to Florida from Mesa Arizona. He did not want to pay to register the car in FL, so he sold it to me. It is a rock solid Arizona car. I bought it with 48,000 miles on the clock and have since driven it almost 5000 miles over the last year. It has proven to be an exceptionally reliable car. The previous Arizona title indicated “Actual miles”, so the Florida title reflects this as well. This is a “500” model with a 302ci V8, which was the base motor for this model. It has a 3 speed automatic transmission. It has original 4 wheel drum brakes, power steering, and dealer installed A/C. It runs great, shifts great, stops fine (for 4 wheel drums) and turns like a boat. The bearing in the A/C compressor went last year and I haven’t bothered to fix it, but it did work for a few months after I bought it, so the system will work with a replacement compressor. I love driving this car, it gets so many compliments. People are used to seeing El Camino’s, but rarely see a Ranchero. The body on it is straight and solid. According to the previous owner, it was repainted about 10 years ago. It has some scratches here and there, and has some paint peel on the cowl (see pictures). The interior is really nice. The headliner has been replaced, and the seat has been recovered. The door panels are original apart from the fake wood, which has been replaced. The dash lights and gauges work accept for the clock. The dash top itself is in fantastic condition with NO cracks. It has the optional FM radio in it, but no speaker in the dash. The bed has some kind of paint on liner in it that I hate. If I were to keep it, I would have it removed, as it’s ugly, but at least it has protected it from rust. The car is super solid underneath. The only hint of rust is on the passenger side floor behind the front wheel, it’s very minor though. There are two small rock chips in the windshield. Not cracks, so they won’t spread, they are just chips. Recent work to it includes a rebuilt carb, new plugs, wires, rotor, cap. I had four brand new tires put on it, so they have less then 5000 miles on them. This is a 43 year old car that I don’t hesitate to jump in and drive anywhere. But being 43 years old, it’s not perfect, all old cars always need something. Still, it’s a very presentable, good running/driving classic to be proud of. Buyer responsible for shipping if required. Reserve is set low as I would like to sell it to finance the purchase of a new toy. Car is located in Bradenton FL 34212. Please email with any questions.
