Vehicle Detail

1937 Ford Slantback Sedan. This car is a true Barn Find. It has been sitting in a shop in Michigan since 1973. The Car still has a 1973 Michigan License Plate on it and comes with a clear Michigan State Title. The car is a 4 Door Sedan and the Rear Doors open Suicide Style. The car is 95% Complete and period correct. I do not know what engine the car originally had in it, but it must have been a V-8. Sometime in the 1950s the factory engine was replaced with an Allstate (Sears) standard replacement engine. The Paperwork is still with the car. The Replacement Engine is a Ford Flathead V-8, early 1950s style. It is similar, but probably not exactly like the original engine. The Car starts right up and idles and runs well. It has exhaust and is quiet. It shifts through the gears with no problems. It has hydraulic brakes, but they are weak. It can be driven around the yard or around the block, but that would be about it. I have been starting and running it on a 12 volt battery. It was originally a 6 volt system. The Body of the car is pretty solid. The Floor Boards all look good and the Trunk Pan looks good. The Roof, Hood and Trunk Lid all look good. The Fenders and Running Boards are not as good as the main body of the car, but could probably be used in a restoration. The Running Boards have the most rust of any part of the car. The Interior of the car appears to be original. It is rough, but very complete and should be good for patterns or examples of what the original interior would look like. The Passenger Door Panel, Glove Box Door and Carpet are missing. The Car has a nice original Banjo Style Steering Wheel and Nice Factory Gauges. This car has a rare dial radio with a V-8 emblem as the station pointer. I am told this is a rare and hard to find option. I don't know much about these cars, but the radio is pretty neat. The Radio has both the Face and the Box with the Tubes, under the Dash. The Radio has not been wired to the 12 volt battery, so it has not been damaged by high voltage. The Glass is all present, but some is cracked and damaged. The car is sitting on a set of Original Rims and Hub Caps and Old Bias Ply Tires. The Tires have Portawall White Walls. They have good tread and hold air, but probably won't be good for much more than rolling on a trailer. The Rear Bumper is not on the car, in the Pictures, but I have the Rear Bumper with the car. This would be a great car to restore or Hot Rod. The 1937 Ford Grill has to be one of the most beautiful ever produced. I am posting good pictures and a good description, but will try to answer any questions through email. This car runs and drives, but cannot be driven home. I may be able to assist with delivery, for a fee, within a few hundred miles of Canton, Ohio. I am listing this car with a low starting price and no reserve. It will sell to the highest bidder.
