Vehicle Detail
We bought this vehicle with 45k on the odometer with some body damage. We had that fixed and put a lot of trouble free miles on this car. We had a third child and the back seat got tight, on to a minivan. I had planned to put a lot more miles on this car, and anticipated that it would continue to be as trouble free for us as it has been so far. It gets 28MPG, doesn't leak, smoke, or make unnecessary noises. I have kept up on all maintenance on this car. Every 5k miles I change the Mobil One synthetic, and Wix oil filter. On occasion I've sent in an oil sample, unfortunately I don't have a copy of the last one, car was at about 100k and everything looked good on the oil analysis after 5k miles. The best thing you can do for an auto transmission is flush the oil and change the filter, I did that as soon as we got it, and at 100k. The spark plugs only have a few thousand miles on them. The check engine light is on. I have a basic scanner that shows the trouble code P1135, which means that an oxygen sensor is out. In most cases I've heard that doesn't affect anything, and since this one has been on for quite a while with no adverse affects, (still 28MPG) I didn't see the use in replacing it. I can turn the light off with the scanner if the buyer requests it. I could have done it and not disclosed this little detail like a used car dealer, but that's not me. The alignment is right on, the tires wear evenly. The steering wheel is not centered however, which can be easily fixed with an alignment, or just driven for a lot of miles as we've done so far. It got dinged up a year ago when we had golf ball sized hail. There are dents on the car as a result, predominantly on the drivers side, and top sides of the car. There is one crack in the windshield from hail, it's on the passenger side in the dark sun shade area at the top. It is a perfect U-shape, starts at the top goes down about 5" and goes back up. In my opinion that crack won't get any worse, and you do have to look to see it. I included a picture of it, but it's almost impossible to see in the picture. The windshield was not very old when that happened. One of the tail lights has a hole in the lens, as pictured. It got a new battery a few months ago. Tires are good. There is a full sized spare! Brakes do not make any noises. We don't think that the car was ever smoked in, we are non-smokers and that smell would drive us crazy if it had been. There is one mark on the drivers seat that looks like a small cigarette burn, also pictured. On the rear speakers the screens got brittle in the sun and fell apart. The speakers still work and since I'm not an audiophile they've worked just fine for us. The ac works very well, blows so cold you'll freeze. I would have absolutely no hesitation in driving this car anywhere in the country. I trust this car with my own safety and that of my family. That said, it is a used car, and is sold as is. I also have it for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early. I will be gone on vacation on the 15th, pickup before that time would be preferred. A note on the autocheck vehicle history report. After I listed this I reviewed it, it says 3 accidents. The first was the one with the front end damage as noted above. The second one is actually the date that the salvage auction transferred the title, and because it had existing damage at that time they noted it on the title. There is no case number as that was not actually another accident. The third one happened when somebody tried to come into our lane, and bumped the car slightly. When my wife got home and told me about it I really couldn't see the damage, the other car was also undamaged. I'm not sure why a report was filed, but it is what it is.
