Vehicle Detail
Here is a cool 1968 Dodge Dart GTS 383 4 speed! The Dart GTS 383 was Chrysler's answer to the rest of the Big Three's Big Block Powered Pony cars of the late 60's. This 1968 Dart GTS is a Factory Big Block car with the 383 cubic inch engine which was rated at 330 Horsepower and was available with either the Heavy Duty 727 Automatic Transmission or Chrysler's A833 4 Speed Manual Transmission. This 1968 Dart GTS 383 is a 4 Speed car which makes it 1 of 991 Produced with the 383hp and the 4 speed transmission according to the books written by Galen Govier. The 1968 Dart GTS 383 Automatic cars have Production Figures of 1,113 according to Galen Govier's book so with either the 4 Speed or the Automatic Transmission options, these cars are quite scarce. Im one of those guys that really prefers my Muscle cars to have a Manual Transmission. It just makes the whole driving experience far more interesting and there is nothing like grabbing gears to get the juices flowing. The Dart GTS 383 is a cool car whether is be an Automatic or a 4 Speed and either way they are fairly rare cars with low production figures. In my opinion any car that has Production figures of just 991 units would be fairly rare and after 44 years, I cant imagine that many have survived. There is a GTS Registry which shows the exact number of 1967-1968-1969 Dart GTS' known as per the registry. Im sure there are other Dart GTS 340's Dart GTS 383's and even some of the Rare 1969 Dart GTS 440's that have not found their way to the GTS Registry yet. Either way, these Big Block Powered Compact cars are very scarce and you just dont see them around very often. This one is pretty darn cool so scroll down and check out all of the information that Ive provided as well as the many pictures that Ive added to this auction. This 1968 Dart GTS is an excellent running car with a strong 383 engine that has that unmistakable big block Mopar throaty rumble. The engine always starts easily and sounds awesome with no noises or smoke and it makes plenty of power to get the little Dart GTS moving along quickly. The 4 Speed Transmission shifts nicely with no transmission noise or problems and the clutch works as it should. The Hurst 4 Speed Shifter and some of the Shifter parts were purchased from Brewers Performance who specializes in Mopar 4 Speed parts. There are receipts for the Shifter and the new or rechromed Hurst Shifter Handle as well an many other pieces that were purchased from Brewers. The receipts from Brewers alone total around $1300. There is no clutch chatter and none of the issues often associated with a transmission problem such as popping out of gear....None of that with this Transmission. The Transmission and Clutch work just as they should with no problems and the only thing that I can is that the shifter seems to be a little wide between gears which is typical of a stock shifter... in other words its not a super tight shift pattern like a new Hurst Super Competition Plus might give you. This could be a matter of simply adjusting the shifter rods as they might just need to be tweaked a little after the new shifter was installed. Either way the Transmission shifts just fine with no problems and goes through all 4 gears and reverse just as it should. The Dart Drives down the road nicely and steers fairly well and the original Manual Front Disc Brakes do a nice job of stopping the car. This 1968 Dart GTS 383 is a Strong running car that runs very well and shifts nicely with strong acceleration through all 4 gears. The 383 engine sounds great but its nothing radical. The engine is said to have some cylinder head work done along with a mild cam which can be heard resonating through the full dual exhaust with the FlowMaster Mufflers which give the engine a healthy sound out back. The cam is great for a street car with a nice sound at idle which really comes to life when the engine warms up and sounds great with the FlowMasters! Its not a super choppy cam but rather a nice mild street cam that gives you that cool Big Block Mopar sound at idle and the cam seems to work well through the power band with good strong throttle response. The engine compartment appears to have a very stock overall appearance with the 383 nestled in between the shock tower/inner fenders. The engine still wears the correct Big Block "A" Body High Performance Exhaust Manifolds with Original Chrysler Part Numbers 2863900 & 2946729 These Rare Big Block "A" Body High Performance Exhaust Manifolds are in nice Original condition and do not appear to be heavily pitted as they often can be. The Exhaust Manifolds run straight back to a full Dual Exhaust which feature FlowMaster Mufflers which sound great with that deep FlowMaster growl. The Exhaust exits through the FlowMaster Mufflers into a Pair of 2 1/2" Tailpipes that exit just under the Rear Bumper. I was told that the Exhaust System was replaced about 6-7 years ago and then just 2-3 years ago, the previous owner replaced the Mufflers and the Tailpipes and when you look under the car, you can see that the Mufflers & Tailpipes look fairly new. The engine is wearing most of the Stock Chrysler engine components with the exception of an Edelbrock Performer Aluminum Intake Manifold which closely resembles the Stock cast iron Intake Manifold. The Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold is topped with a New Holley Street Avenger 670 cfm Carburetor #80670-1 which also has an electric choke. The Holley Street Avenger Carburetor works really well with the Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold and I am always amazed at how easily this 383 starts with the Cold-Blooded nature of Big Block Mopar engines. There is also a newer Mopar Performance Electronic Ignition Kit that was installed which also helps with cold starting the notoriously cold-blooded Mopar Big Block engine. This Dart GTS 383 runs really strong and starts quite easily which is something that you cant say about every big block Mopar powered vehicle. The combination of the Holley Street Avenger along with the Edelborck Performer Intake Manifold and Chrysler's Electronic Ignition with the New Orange Box makes for one awesome combination when it comes to starting easily and running strong! The Intake & Carburetor are topped with the Correct Chrysler Black Krinkle Finish Unsilenced Air Cleaner with the Correct 383 FOUR BARREL Pie Tin Air Cleaner Topper. The engine compartment has a nice clean overall look and the 383 is nice and clean as well. The 4 Speed Manual Transmission is in good condition and shifts just fine with no noises from the Transmission and the Shifter is a correct restored Unit from Brewers Performance which includes the Hurst Shifter Handle being rechromed. The Clutch feels great with no chatter and absolutely no grinding when shifting from gear to gear. The Transmission shifts into all of the gears with no problems and the restored Chrome Hurst Shifter looks great and works just fine. The Rear Differential appears to be the Original 8 3/4" Unit and works well with no problems or noises. The 8 3/4" Rear houses the 3.91 Sure-Grip Center and there are no problems with the rear. The drivetrain in this 1968 Dart GTS 383 is in excellent operating condition with no known mechanical issues outside of a couple of drips of oil that Ive noticed by the rear of the engine... possibly a rear main seal leak which Ive repaired in the past by simply tightening up the oil pan bolts.... sometimes its as easy as that but either way its not something thats a big concern and I honestly cant remember the last 40+ year old car that didnt have some type of minor drip or leak.... it goes with the territory when it comes to these old Muscle cars. The 383 truly runs very well and starts so easily that my friend and I have a running inside joke about the car being fuel injected because we are both Mopar guys and we are both used to the notoriously cold blooded Big Block Mopar engines that can occasionally be difficult to start when they are ice cold and have been sitting for awhile. This has to be one of the nicest starting Big Block Powered cars that Ive had in many years if not the easiest. I think that we just have the car tuned perfectly and with the help of the Chrysler Electronic Ignition & New Orange Box combined with the New Holley Street Avenger 670 cfm Carburetor riding on the New Edelbrock Performer Aluminum Intake Manifold.... it just works really well together and makes for one of the easiest cold starting Chrysler Big Block Engines that Ive ever had. . It just runs and shifts great and goes down the road nicely and will put you back in your seat when you get into the throttle. The Dart GTS 383 is equipped with Manual Steering and Manual Front Disc Brakes. The Steering feels nice and the car steers nicely with no problems other than feeling a little frontend heavy as these cars are known to be. Many of the Road Test that were done back in 1968 praised these Dart GTS 383 cars for many things but they all seem to agree that they were frontend heavy but quite Fast in a straight line. The Frontends were quite heavy with the weight of the big 383 over the front wheels which meant that certain sacrafices would have to be made in the way of handling. You got some serious Horsepower to the Rear Wheels but the problem was getting these cars to get any real traction and if you didnt know how to handle these cars properly then you would be left on the line in a cloud of your own tire smoke. There are some new frontend bushings up front as well as New Front Sway Bar Bushings. I was told that the brakes were gone over a couple of years ago and there seems to be no issues with the brakes. The Front Disc Brakes stop the car nicely with a nice high firm brake pedal. The frontend feels pretty good without excessive play in the steering so I dont believe there is any need for immediate replacement of the frontend parts. In fact there is a receipt from Just Suspensions dated January 30, 2007 which shows a 1968 Dart New Master Suspension Rubber Kit totaling $322.00 and there are other receipts from Year One for a New "A" Body Big Block Pitman Arm as well as receipts for New Upper "A" Arm Cam Bolts and receipts for New Torsion Bar Dust Boots just to name a few. The Dart GTS drives nicely but even with the many New Frontend Parts, this is still a Big Block Powered Dart and these cars did not drive like Cadillacs. The Dart GTS 383 drives like a typical big block powered Mopar "A" Body Muscle car! Overall I would say that this GTS 383 drives pretty well and if you familiar with these Big Block "A" Body Mopars then you know exactly what I mean. They run really strong and they can pull very hard through the gears and are an absolute blast to drive but they do not provide the type of ride that you get from a full framed car with coil spring suspension. They drive much like a comparable 1968 Mustang GT 390 equipped Muscle car! Overall this 1968 Dart GTS 383 drives quite well. This GTS 383 feels scary fast when your pushing that Gas Pedal hard and staying into it as you go through the gears! If you've never owned a Big Block Dart with a 4 Speed then your in for a real treat as these babies are so much FUN!!!!! The Interior in this 1968 Dart GTS is very clean overall with Fresh Correct Blue Bucket Seat Covers with the Original Seat Emblems in the Upper Portion of each seat. The Rear Seat was also recovered with the correct New Seat Covers from Legendary Auto Interiors. The Door Panels are also New Legendary Correct Reproductions with the Original GTS emblems installed. The Carpets were also replaced and look very Nice thoughout the car. The Headliner and Rear Package Tray were replaced with the correct replcements although the previous owner could have done a better job of installing the Headliner as it has some areas where the Headliner is not as tight as it should be. The Door Panels look awesome and the Padded Armrest are very nice with the correct short Pads up front and the Rear Pads looking every bit as nice with the Chrome Ashtrays installed. The Painted sections of the Doors above and below the Door Panels look great with very nice paint that was all done at the time that the Interior freshening was done. The Paint in these areas of the Doors looks outstanding! The Dash has a Nice Painted Section in the same Blue as the Upper Door Paint and it looks very nice although there are some scratches in the dash paint.....nothing terrible but there are some scratches. The Instrument Cluster looks clean although its not perfect by any means. The Instrument Cluster still has all of the Correct Original pieces from one end to the other which includes the Original AM Music Master Roll Dial Radio. There is a cool 1967-1968 Vintage Sun 10,000 RPM Tach installed on the Steering Column just like we did back in the 60's & 70's. The Tach is one of the earliest of the Self-Contained Sun Tachs that did not require a separate Sending Unit to operate properly. This Sun Tach has the Full Chrome Cup with the Special Steering Column Mount and the Tach not only looks Super Cool but it works. The Tach is shown in some of the pictures with the engine idling at 950 rpm's which is ideal for a big block 4 speed engine. The Tach has a Nice Clean Face with Crisp Colors in the Numbers as well as Bright Red coloring on the Needle and Crisp coloring on the Adjustable Redline!!! The Tach works as it should and even the Light in the Tach works properly when you turn your Headlights or Parking Lights on .... just a Super Cool Nostalgic piece that looks fantastic in the car and works just as the Sun Electric Corporation of Chicago Illinois intended it to work!!! The Steering Column looks nice although not show detailed, it looks nice and clean and the Original Blue Steering Wheel is the original early 1968 style wheel with the Chrome Horn Ring and the Dodge Center Cap. The steering wheel is Original and showing some age but its something that you'd expect from a 44 year old Muscle car with Manual Steering. The Intsrument Cluster Bezels are complete and I dont believe that any of the Original Plastic bezels have any breaks but the coloring is showing its age but they look fine for a driver or you could either restore the Dash Bezels or Replace them at some point. It all depends on what you want. The car looks nice for a driver but would benefit from some freshening if you wanted to make it a show car. We could say this for just about any car thats never been restored and is wearing many of its original parts. The previous owner was going to install the Chrysler under the Dash Air Conditioning in this Dart GTS and what could be cooler than a 1968 Dart GTS 383 4 Speed with Air? I love the idea and especially if your using original Chrysler Parts under the Dash as it will look completely Original inside the car and even under the Hood if you want to use the Original style Chrysler AC Compressors and such. The Nice thing about the Chrysler Under the Dash AC Unit is that you can adapt the newer Smaller Sanden AC Compressors under the Hood which are far more efficient than the big Original Chrysler AC Compressors. These New Style AC Compressors are smaller, lighter and are fairly easy to install under the Hood. I had a 1961 Ford with the Original Ford Mark IV Air Conditioning Unit under the Dash and it was connected to a Brand New Sanden Mini AC Compressor along with New AC Lines under the Hood and this was the best working Air Conditioning that Ive ever had in any Classic car and the best part about it was that it looked 100% Factory Original when you looked at the Unit Mounted under the Dash. It was incredibly cold.... in fact it was far colder than the AC in my wifes brand New car which completely amazed me. Its not much different than the guys that are installing the Vintage Air Units in their Hot Rods, Street Rods and Muscle cars except that your still using the Original Chrysler under the Dash Air Conditioner so you retain that factory original look. Now if you didnt want to install the AC then you could simply remove the under the Dash Unit thats already installed in the car and ditch the whole idea but I really like the idea of having Cold AC in a 1968 Dart GTS 383 4 Speed! Its great for those super hot days where you just need the AC to cool things down a bit. Again, this is just a matter of personal preference. The Under the Dash Unit was very cleanly installed by the previous owner as well as the AC, Heater & Defroster Controls and even the Copper AC Line Fittings were installed and I have the Copper Lines that run to the AC Dryer as well as an Original Chrysler AC Condensor so you could simply aquire an Original Chrysler Dryer, Compressor along with a few other AC pieces if you wanted to get the AC up and running. I believe I have an Original AC Compressor Bracket in my stash of old parts along with an NOS Chrysler Rubber AC High Pressure Line with the Compression Fittings. Ive had this stuff around for years and your welcome to it and hopefully it will make things easier for you should you decide to continue with the AC Installation. This is about as Cool as it gets in my opinion and I would love to see somebody finish installing the Chrysler Under Dash Original Style AC in this GTS 383. This would make for one very fun car thats also a pleasure to drive on the hottest of days! The Body on this 1968 Dart GTS 383 looks Nice as does the Paint as you can see in the pictures. It has a real Nice shine and the Metallic in the Paint looks awesome in Natual Sunlight! The Body is Nice and Straight when you look down the sides and it appears as though they did a pretty nice job on the body when they prepped this car for paint some 15+ years ago. It appears as though the drivers side quarter panel was replaced and there was some work done on the rockers which has started some bubbling as you can see in the pictures but its down low and the car still has a good look for a weekend cruiser or would make a fun local cruise night car! The Fenders are nice and solid and the doors look great as does the original Hood. There is a very minor spot that has a little bubbling under the paint on the very lower corner of the trunk lid on the passenger side. The Trunk and the Drop-Off's look really Nice and solid as does the Spare Tire Well. The Undercarriage is undercoated and from what I can see it looks as though the passenger side front floor pan could use a little patch or repair. The Frame rails look solid overall although there was a repair done on the unibody on the drivers side where a piece of flat steel stock that was welded up to strengthen an area that was showing some rust. This repair appears to be nicely done and looks as if its is solid as a rock. It was done in an area that I believe was better to repair than to replace as it was not a large area and I have seen repairs like this on other Mopar "A" & "B" Body cars over the years. Besides that, I dont see anything tragic or anything that bothered me outside of some crusty areas underneath that would benefit from a good cleaning and some detailing. The car is undercoated so you cant see everything thats going on underneath but outside of the previously mentioned areas, I believe the car is fairly solid underneath although not flawless or perfect, I dont see anything that I found to be a major issue or I would certainly mention it. The Doors Open and Close Nicely and the Door Fit seems to be pretty good and the same goes for the Trunk Lid. The Hood Opens and Closes easily and is in nice shape and looks great clean from front to back and from corner to corner. The Glass in the car is all Original Tinted Glass that looks great! The Trim on the car is Original and is fine for a driver but not perfect. The Grill looks pretty nice although it could use some detailing and the drivers side headlight bezels has a couple of marks.... the rest of the grill looks nice and a little detailing would really make it pop. The Trunk Rear Finish Panel is Original and it looks fine although its not perfect but again a little detailing would go a long way. I would leave it alone and just enjoy driving the car although if you found a better one that was reasonably priced then you could always swap it out. It looks just fine for a weekend cruiser but its not by any means perfect. The Front Bumper has Nice Chrome and the Back Bumper is showing its age. The Paint on the car looks pretty Nice overall besides the things that Ive mentioned earlier. There are some nicks, chips and such but I think the car has one or maybe two small door dings on the whole car. The Roof is nice and straight with no dings, scrapes or even any scratches for that matter or at least nothing that I was able to see. This car will make a really fun weekend cruiser that still looks good even with the older paint and body work showing its age in places. Its still a real deal Factory 1968 Dart GTS 383 4 Speed car with the 8 3/4" Rearend with 3.91 Sure-Grip with a Super Strong running 383 engine and an excellent 4 Speed Manual Transmission. The Lights on the car work as they should from the Headlights, Both High & Low Beams, The Parking Lights work properly... the Turn Signals work, the Brake Lights work, the Fender & Quarter Mounted Round Side Marker Lights all work, The License Plate Light works, The Interior Dome Lights work, The Windshield Wipers work, The Dash Lights all Light up Nice and Bright and the Sun Tachometer works properly. There is a Trio of Aftermarket Gauges Mounted Under the Dash with an Oil Pressure Gauge that holds 65 Pounds of Oil Pressure when cold and drops down to 45-50 Pounds of Pressure when Hot. The Water Temperature Gauge works properly and the car seems to run at 175-185 when its nice and hot at idle. The aftermarket AMP Gauge is not connected as the Factory Original Amp/Alternator Gauge works as it should. The Heater Controls work properly with the Air Coming through the Under Dash AC Box and the Heater/Defroster seems to be working fine as well.... Even the Original Cigaratte Lighter is working as it should. The Gas Gauge Doesnt appear to be working properly although it could very well be that the wire is not hooked up to the sending unit properly or worse case scenario is that you might have to replace the Fuell Gauge Sending Unit. The Speedometer is not working at this time although Im not sure why. The Speedometer cable is in place and was working fine but for some reason it stopped working. Im not sure if its the little Speedometer gear or if there is a problem with the cable.... dont know for sure but it cant be a big deal as it is usually either the cable or the plastic gear. The only things that are not working at this time are the Gas Gauge, Speedometer and the Original AM Radio.... everything else seems to work fine. The only other real issue is that the passenger side Door Glass appears to need a plastic window guide which keeps the Glass riding straight on the track when rolling the window either up or down. I cant think of anything else thats of major concern. The car always starts easily and runs very strong and drives pretty nice for a little Big Block Dart GTS 383. This is not a show car guys but rather a Real Big Block Dart GTS 383 4 Speed Driver. There are some little things that you'll want to do to the car as with any 44 year old car. There is the bubbling down at the rocker and around the wheel lip along with a spot on the passenger side front floor pan that needs a patch. Its a great car for weekend cruising and its a whole lot of fun to drive. Its just a blast to drive through the gears and the 383 sounds great with that nice healthy big block Mopar rumble that growls through the Dual Exhaust with the slightest hint of an upgraded cam shaft. The Dart GTS 383 was a great candidate for those Chrysler guys who wanted a smaller Muscle car to compete with the Camaro SS396 Firebird 400 Mustang GT 390 and even the cool little Rambler ScRambler 390 4 speeds. The Mopar Muscle cars were always rarer than the GM & Ford Muscle cars as production numbers were always lower than most of the competition. After 40+ years nothing has changed as you still see fewer Dart GTS than the Camaro SS and Mustang GT Models. These Dart GTS' were just fun little rockets back in the day and they are every bit as fun today. Cars like this 1968 Dart GTS 383 are just a blast to drive and with the 4 speed they are just that much more exciting to drive!!! I have always preferred Muscle cars with a Manual Transmission as it just makes driving all the more interesting and there is nothing quite like grabbing gears in a Classic Muscle car and especially when its powered by a big block. The Dart GTS in this auction is a pretty good old car. The car runs really strong and it shifts nicely with the Hurst Shifter. The only thing negative that I can say about the Shifter is that the pattern seems a little wide so maybe it could use an adjustment. Im not sure but it shifts just fine and the clutch feels good. The Transmission doesnt make any unusual noises and no grinding between shifts, no popping out of gear... just a good Chrysler 4 Speed Transmission that works as it should. The 383 engine runs really well....starts easily and sounds great with no unusual noises and runs very well through the gears. The engine appears to have a light leak from the rear of the oil pan which might be as simple a fix as tighening up the oil pan bolts as the car has not been driven very much over the last year and the seals will expand with the heat as the car is driven more often. This Dart runs good guys and will fire up everytime with no problems or at least its been that way with me... always starts easily and runs very well. The electrical components are in good working order or I should say that most everything works as it should outside of the Radio, Speedometer and Gas Gauge... all of the Lights & Signals work as well as the Dash Lights and Dome light. The Windshield Wipers work fine as does the Cigarette Lighter. Its a good old car with older paint and body work but it still has a cool look and is nice and straight. This is not a show car but rather a weekend cruiser that certainly looks and drives well enough to take to any local cruise night event. If your looking for a Cool Cruiser then this might be the car for you. The 1968 Dart GTS 383 4 Speed is a great car to cruise around in on the weekends or to take to local cruise events. Like I said, its not a restored car or a perfect car but its still a very Rare 1968 Dart GTS 383! The Vin Number clearly shows that this car is an Original 1968 Dart GTS 383 car and thats more than can be said for the 1968 Camaro SS396 and many other Muscle cars which can be difficult to authenticate. The Vin Number shows LS23H8B416379 which decodes as LS= Dodge Dart GTS 23= 2 Door Hardtop H=383 High Performance 4 Barrel 330 Horsepower 8= 1968 Model Year B= Chrysler Hamtramck Michigan Assembly Plant 416379= Hamtramck Michigan Assembly Plant Sequential Build Number. This is the real deal .... Factory 1968 Dart GTS 383!!!! A previous owner had the car painted some 15+ years ago and at the time of the paint work, the body shop lost the original fender tag which is unfortunate but the nice thing about these Chrysler cars is that the Vin Number shows you that the car is an Original 1968 Dart GTS 383. Ive looked the car over and it appears to have always been a 4 speed car and it also appears as though it was always a Blue on Blue car although the Original Paint color appears as though it may have been a lighter Blue or Turquoise. Of course this is just an opinion but we know for sure that this 1968 Dodge Dart GTS 383 is an Original and Rare Factory Big Block A Body car and these cars are becoming very difficult to find. This car is priced very reasonably so that the next owner can enjoy the car and make improvements or upgrades as their time and finances allow or you might just enjoy the old Dart GTS 383 4 Speed just the way she is!!! This is a fun car and it still turns a lot of heads just like most old cars but the difference here is that this is a Rare one!!!! ABOVE: The 1968 Dart GTS 383 sitting out by my neighbors house and looking super cool with the Body color painted Steel Wheels and fairly New Wide Radial Tires along with the subtle look of the little Dog Dish Hubcaps. Those great looking 1968 Only Side Marker Lights give the 68's a look all their own and the same goes for the Super Cool 1968 Dart GTS Hood which was also used for 1968 Only and I love the unique look of the 1968 Hood Scoop Inserts with their Chrome, Argent and Red Trim...the Hood stands out like no other. These GTS 383's were never intended to be sleepers with the 383 FOUR BARREL Fender emblems and the Tail Stripe and Cool Hood which just screamed Muscle!!! ABOVE: The Front of the Dart GTS looks absolutely Sinister in this picture!!! From the Unique Round Parking Light Lenses to the Cool 68 Only Grill with the Rare Ornamental Grill Center to the tough raised Hood with the Chrome Inserts, this 1968 GTS 383 just looks Badass!!! ABOVE: A Nice Drivers Side Shot of the Dart GTS shows the car from Bumper to Bumper and as you can see, the car has a nice clean appearance! ABOVE: A Nice Picture showing the passenger side of the 1968 Dart GTS 383. The car is shown from bumper to bumper and as you can see, the car looks nice! ABOVE: The Passenger Side shown with its aggressive stance and the bare bones Muscle car look with the Dog Dish Hubcaps.... its a look thats timeless and loves by many of us Mopar faithful. ABOVE: The Dart GTS shown from the Front which really accentuates the cool look of the 1968 specific Grill with its Cool Round Parking Lights and the interesting 1968 Only Optional Grill Center. The 1968 Dart GTS 383 looks outright bad ass from the front. The Paint color in this lighting is the correct color although many of the pictures came out kind of dark and make the car look a little Darker Blue than it actually is. ABOVE: A Nice Drivers Side Picture of the GTS 383 showing the nicely painted Stock Steel Wheels which are 14 x 5 1/2" . The Tires are Nice Wide Meaty Radials that work quite well with this car. The Larger Radial Tires really make the car drive and handle much better than it would with a smaller stock size tire. The Factory called for E70-14 Tires and if your familiar with the E70-14 Tires then you know that they were only about 25" Tall and had about 5" of tread that made contact with the street. The car currently runs 215 and 205 which give it 6 1/2" of Tire up front and 7" of Tire out back! The Wider Tires surely give the GTS a more aggressive Stance and better handling! ABOVE: The Dart GTS 383 from the Drivers Side Rear shows the Cool Rump Stripe as well as the Factory Body Color Painted Gas Cap which is often missing from these cars. The Taillights work as you can see as do the side marker lights. Notice the 1967 Vintage HURST Flower in the Rear Window? Its a Super Cool piece that was released as part of a Hurst advertising campaign during 1967-1968. This Hurst Flower Decal is an Original and look way cool in the Rear Window. I will show Close-Ups of the Hurst Flower in some pictures below! ABOVE: The Front of the Dart GTS looks really sharp with the Round Amber Parking Lights and the very Unique 1968 Grill along with the Grill Center Ornamental divider which really makes this GTS stand apart from the others! The 1968 License Plate and the Chrome License Plate Frame on the Front will stay with the car! ABOVE: The Drivers Side Front shows the Nice Painted Steel Wheels with the Clean Dog Dish Hubcaps and the Nice Wide Tires along with the GTS 383 emblems and the Crisp Red Trim inside the Hood Scoop Inserts make for a very Cool look!!! ABOVE: The Drivers Side Shows nicely all the way down the side of the Dart! ABOVE: A Nice Picture showing the full drivers side of the Dart GTS from end to end ABOVE: This picture was taken from the Passenger Side Rear of the car all the way up the side and it shows that the car is nice and straight! ABOVE: This Pictures shows the Drivers Side from the Rear Bumper all the way up to the front of the car. This was intended to show just how nice and straight the body is on this 1968 Dart GTS 383. ABOVE: The Roof shows the nice Metallic finish in the Paint and also the nice clean dentfree roof.... smooth lines.... just cool!!!! ABOVE: A Nice picture of the Dart GTS from the drivers side rear shows the nice straight body... beautiful Painted Steel Wheels with Super Clean Dog Dish Hubcaps and the trademark Rear Rump Stripe in White as well as the 1968 Round Side Marker Lights..... Trunk Finish Panel shows a Vintage style Hurst Equipped emblem and the 1967-1968 Vintage HURST Flower Power Advertising campaign decal in Green, Blue, Red, Black & White with the Hurst Shifter bodyman in the middle!!! ABOVE: A Good Picture of the Rear of the 1968 GTS shows the Trunk Finish Panel along with a Vintage Pennsylvania Plate and the 1967-1968 Dated Hurst Flower decal ABOVE: Great Close-Up Picture of the 1967-1968 HURST Flower Power Advertising Campaign Decal which shows the Shifter Bodied Hurst guy with the Shift Ball for his Head, Shifter Handle as his Body, Shifter Linkage Rods for Arms & Legs and a Hurst Shifter Mechanism for this Lower Body!!! I love this Rare Original Old School Advertising stuff and nobody did it better than HURST!!!! ABOVE: COOL OLD PENNSYLVANIA TAG JUST LOOKED COOL TO ME EVEN THOUGH ITS OLDER THAN THE CAR, LOL .... THE VINTAGE DIRECT CONNECTION LICENSE PLATE FRAME HAS BEEN IN MY COLLECTION SINCE THE EARLY 80'S SO IM KEEPING THE FRAME. DID YOU NOTICE THAT THE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT WORKS? ITS STILL WORKING PROPERLY TO LIGHT UP YOUR LICENSE PLATE IN THE EVENINGS! ABOVE: A CLOSE UP PHOTO OF THE BLACK KRINKLE FINISH UNSILENCED AIR CLEANER WITH THE CORRECT FILTER CARE DECAL ON THE SIDE AND THE CORRECT 383 FOUR BARREL PIE TIN ON TOP...THERE IS ALSO A NEW AIR FILTER INSIDE THE UNSILENCED AIR CLEANER! ABOVE: The engine compartment shows nicely. The 383 still wears Original Mopar Big Block "A" Body Factory Exhaust Manifolds along with the Correct Black Krinkle Finish Unsilenced Air Cleaner with the correct decal on the side and the Beautiful 383 FOUR BARREL Pie Tin Air Cleaner Top! The Inner Fenders look nice and clean overall and appear to be very solid. There are a couple of small dings that were repaired at some time from the engine being installed and making contact with the drivers side apron by the shock.Ive seen this on many Mopars over the years. The engine compartment has a clean appearance and you certainly wouldnt be ashamed to show the engine compartment while you were out at your local cruise night gathering! ABOVE: The Engine Compartment shows the Big 383 sitting between the Factory High Performance Exhaust Manifolds which are a very close fit... these engines were shoehorned or stuffed into these cars!!! Notice the Original Heater Hose Bracket that holds the Hoses together and out of the way of the belts... the Bracket can be seen just to the right of the Alternator and is coated in Rubber to keep the Heater Hoses from being damaged. ABOVE: The Passenger Side Inner Fender has a Clean appearance and the shocks appear to be fairly new from up top. The car could still use a few things under the hood such as a windhsield washer recervouir and some other odds and ends but as a whole the engine compartment looks clean. Its not a show car but presents itself well as a weekend driver and the engine compartment leaves a good first impression when the Hood is opened. The Passenger side inner apron or inner fender looks clean overall! ABOVE: The engine compartment shows nice and clean and this picture also gives a good shot of the Grill. The engine compartment and the grill could both use some detailing to make them a little nicer but they still present nicely just the way they are. This is a cool driver and looks nice enough to cruise into any car club gathering or cruise night event. Its not a restored show car but its certainly an atractive cruiser. ABOVE: This picture shows the Nice Straight Radiator Support along with the Grill and 68 Dart Grill Optional Center Bar.... Nice Chrome on the Front Bumper. This picture was taken on a bit of an angle so its a little deceiving but Im sure you get the idea... Original Anti-Freeze Decal and nice Original Hood Latch & Spring! ABOVE: The Drivers Side Inner Apron or Inner Fender is clean with some discoloration in spots from the battery as you can see in the picture. The darker spots are from some battery acid which is quite common on just about any classic car. These old cars always seem to have some sort of battery acid staining. If you look just below the shock absorber , you'll notice that there are a couple of small dents that were repaired at some time. Installing the Big Block engine into these little "A" Body cars can be quite tricky as they are a super tight fit and especially with the Rare Big Block "A" Body Factory High Performance Exhaust Manifolds still in place. I helped a friend removed his 383 from his very Original 1969 Barracuda Formula S 383 4 Speed car back in the early 80's and a few months later when he got the engine back from the local engine builder(JA Robinson in Philly), I helped him to install the engine back into the car.... What a nightmare!!! We would have done better with the use of a shoe-horn, lol lol ... all kidding aside, these engines are difficult to install in these cars with the original Factory Exhaust Manifolds in place and the result is often a few dents in the inner fenders ... not usually anything all that horrible unless you drop the engine but a few dings and dents are par for the course! ABOVE: The Front of the GTS has a Super Cool look between the Round Parking Light Lenses with the Amber bulbs and the Center Grill Bar just below the GTS Hood emblem.... The Front Bumper still has a Nice shine and the 1968 Dealer Style License Plate on the Front just looks old school cool! ABOVE: The Passenger side Door, Fender and the GTS Hood show nicely with the GTS 383 Fender emblems, Painted Steel Wheels & Dog Dish Hubcaps and if you look closely, you'll see the old school Mr. Norms Grand Spalding Dodge decal in the wing window... look a little closer yet and you'll see the Sun Tach on the Steering Column and the Hurst Shifter with the White 4 Speed Ball sticking up from between the seats! ABOVE: The Dart GTS 383 shown from the Drivers Side...Nice Full Length shot! ABOVE: Nice Passenger Side picture of the GTS shows everything from the Painted Steelies & Dog Dish Hubcaps to the White Tail Stripe and Cool GTS Hood!!! ABOVE: The Cool 1968 ONLY Dart GTS Hood Scoop Inserts with 4 Oval or Rectangular sections with the Black, Red and Argent colored centers. These just look awesome and they are so different than the 1969 GTS Scoop Inserts. These are among my favorite Mopar Hood Scoops or Inserts and Im talking one of my favorites out of all of the great looking Mopar Muscle car scoops over the years from the Max Wedge, Hemi Scoops, Shakers, Rancharger Scoops, Air Grabber Scoop Inserts and even the later Demon Glass Scoops!!! These are just bad ass and very classy as well!!! ABOVE: This Natural Sunlight shows the Dart GTS as it appears in person although the slightest bit of shade gives the paint a much darker appearance. This photo shows the nice grill and front bumper as well as the cool GTS Hood... Gotta love that Hood and the Blue Paint with the Blue Interior really makes for one pretty car! BELOW: The Dart GTS looks really cool in this picture! The car has an Awesome stance and the look of the Blue Paint against the Bright Aluminum Grill and that Great looking 1968 GTS Hood just looks outright Tough!!!! ABOVE: The Passenger Side show the GTS Fender Emblems along with the Hood Scoop Insert and then theres that cool Grand Spalding Dodge Decal in the passenger side Wing Window.... just a cool little Dart GTS 383 with a great look!!! ABOVE: This picture shows the heavy Metallic Finish in the Paint ... look closely at the upper portion of this Quarter Panel just below the upper body line and you'll see what I mean... the Metallic in this Blue Paint is Really Cool and in the Sunlight it really comes to life!! The Quarter Glass also has the Mr. Norms Grand Spalding Dodge Chicago DYNO TUNED decals with the COOL Dodge Rams Head! Love this Nostalgiac Mopar stuff ... nobody did it like Mr Norms Grand Spalding Dodge in the 60's ..... He was a real inovator and did a lot for Mopar Sales as well as the Hobby!!! ABOVE: The 1968 Dart GTS looks really cool in this picture and the Dog Dish Hubcaps on the Painted Steel Wheels combined with the great looking GTS Hood & the GTS 383 FOUR BARREL Fender emblems against the Blue Metallic Paint and White Bumble Bee Stripe all work so well together. This car just looks TOUGH!!!! ABOVE: The Dart GTS 383 from the rear shows the Trunk Finish Panel with the Vintage style Hurst Equipped emblem on the upper left side and the Dual Exhaust which exit just under the back Bumper. The Tailpipes are actually far more even than the pictures show and you'll see that in some of the other pictures taken from the rear. The picture also shows the cool Vintage Hurst Shifter Flower decal in the back window which I think is pretty cool... its an Original from the late 60's. ABOVE: A Good Picture showing the front of the GTS with the cool Hood Scoop inserts showing a hint of Red from each of the rectangular boxes that make up the Scoop inserts.... the Cool 1968 GTS optional Grill divider is a nice touch and looks really cool as you rarely see them on any 68's. The 1968 License Plate will go with the car along with the cool Chrome License Plate Frame that surrounds the 1968 Plate! These cars have that old school Muscle car look and this one just looks bare bones tough ... all Muscle and not a lot of glitz ... if it were not for the White Stripe, you might actually catch some guys off guard in a little Street Racing action. Does anyone out there actually do any street racing anymore? Well its alive and well in Philly!!! ABOVE: The Drivers side of the Dart GTS looks Great in this picture as you can see all of the cool things that make up the GTS 383 from the Awesome Hood to the White Tail Stripe, GTS 383 Fender emblems and the Factory Painted Steel Wheels with Dog Dish Hubcaps. These little Dart GTS 383's are real screamers and were favorites among the Drag Racers of the 60's and are still quite popular among Mopar Drag Racers to this very day. The 1968 Dart & 1968 Barracuda were the only Mopar "A" Body cars to ever receive a 426 Hemi engine from the factory! ABOVE: The Dart GTS 383 from the Passenger side and again the Great looking body style of the 68 Dart GTS makes for one tough looking Muscle car! ABOVE: The Drivers Side Front Fender shows nicely with the GTS 383 emblems along with the Blue Metallic Painted Steel Wheels & Dog Dish Hubcaps and the Cool 1968 GTS Hood with the unique Hood Inserts with the 4 rectangular boxes with the Black Red and Argent finish around the Chrome! The Hoods on these cars are unique ABOVE: Drivers side from front to back shows the 1968 Dart GTS 383 nicely! ABOVE: The 1967-1968 Vintage Hurst Shifter Flower in the Rear Window! This is way cool and your unlikely to see another anytime soon. This is from a stash of Vintage Hurst memorabilia and it looks way cool on the Rear window of the GTS! The little white marks on the window around the decal were pieces of a paper towel. These Decals are Not Reproduced and this decal has the Blue Ring around the Center which works well with the Blue Metallic Paint on the car along with the Blue Interior! ABOVE: This picture shows the nice lines down the drivers side along with the White Tail Stripe... Cool Painted Steelies with Dog Dish or Poverty Caps, Vintage Hurst Shifter Flower in the Rear Window along with the Hurst Equipped emblem on the Trunk Finish Panel, Trunk Lid GTS Emblem and the Dual Tailpipes sticking out from under the Rear Bumper... Vintage Direct Connection License Plate Frame around the Vintage Pennsylvania License Plate..... just a Good Picture of the Dart GTS 383!!! ABOVE: The Drivers Side Rear shows the Old School HURST EQUIPPED emblem on the upper left hand corner of the Rear Finish Panel. Directly below the Hurst Equipped emblem & down below the Bumper, you'll see the Nice Clean cut Tailpipe that has its match on the opposite side. The Tailpipes are cut nicely on this car and sit fairly equal in length and in location on each side of the car. I have a thing for symmetry and nothing bothers me more than tailpipes that are way off in length or location. The Rear Bumper appears to be the original and although it still shines, its definitely showing its age.... just fine for a weekend cruiser! ABOVE: The drivers side front fender with GTS 383 emblems & Cool 68 GTS Hood! ABOVE: The Dart GTS 383 looks great in this picture. It shows all of the cool things about these cars from the GTS Hood, GTS 383 Fender Emblems, Dog Dish Hubcaps and Painted Steel Wheels and the White Tail Stripe. The car is very attractive and would be a fun weekend cruiser or you can always take it to the next level. I think its just a great car to cruise around this Summer and make some improvements as you'd like. It surely is an head-turner just the way it is but it has old paint and is not by a perfect show car. Its a car that can ne driven now and you can decide if you would like to make some improvements as you go or just have some fun just the way the old Dart is.... lots of fun with a Big Block 4 Speed Dart and thats for sure. ABOVE: A Nice Clean Full picture of the Beautiful Blue Bucket Seat Interior which shows the Nice clean Sill Plates, Nice Door Jambs, Beautiful Door Panels, Super Nice Upper Door Paint, Correct Original Steering Wheel and the Hurst 4 Speed Shifter!!! ABOVE: This Passenger Side Interior Picture shows the Nice New Blue Seat Covers, Nice Carpeting, Nice Sill Plates, Nice Door Jamb Paint, Beautiful Drivers Side Door Panels with gorgeous Upper Door Paint and the Newly Restored Hurst Shifter!!! ABOVE: Passenger side of the Dash shows the Mopar Air Conditioning Unit that the previous owner added to the GTS. He actually did a Nice job of the installation and it would be fairly easy to finish if you wanted to add AC to the Dart GTS 383 4 Speed. You can see where he used a Darker Blue Vinyl Paint or Dye on the Lower section of the under dash AC Unit but he did a Nice job overall. The Dash Pad is the one thing in this car that I would either replace or cover as I dont care for the way that he had it covered. The fitted Grained Hard Vinyl Dash Covers are now available for the 1968 Darts and would be an easy and inexpensive way to make the interior in this GTS look much nicer. The Seat Covers, Door Panels, Kick Panels, Carpets, Arm Rest, Painted Sections of the Doors, Headliner are all either New or have been restored and look nice. I love the idea of adding the Mopar under Dash AC to this 383 4 Speed Dart. ABOVE: The New Blue Bucket Seat Covers look nice and although the Outer Seat Hinge Covers are not installed in these pictures, I have them and they will go with the car. ABOVE: The Instrument Cluster, Dash, Correct Steering Wheel, Hurst Shifter, Nice Trio of Gauges and the 1968 Vintage Sun Tach show nicely in this picture. You might also notice the optional Pedal Dress-Up Kit. The Dash Pad should be replaced at some point as the Original was recovered by a previous owner and a replacement Dash Pad or a Nice Dash Cover would be a nice improvement. The previous owner was in the process of installing an Original Chrysler under the Dash AC unit which would be super cool in a Big Block 4 Speed Dart.... definitely a great addition and a great factory look with an original Mopar under the Dash Unit and you could always install one of the newer small high efficiency Compressors which take up a lot less room and work great and all the while keeping the factory look inside the car. I had one of these small Sanden Compressors under the Hood of my 1961 Ford while using an Original Ford Mark IV under the Dash AC Unit and it not only worked Great but it looked awesome. One of the Nice things about the New Smaller Compressors is that they will fit under the hood of cars that would otherwise be a super tight fit. Gotta Love Ice Cold AC!!! ABOVE: The Nice New Blue Bucket Seat and Rear Seat Covers look great in the GTS. The Original decorative Upper Seat emblems were retained when the New Seat Covers were installed. As you can see, the Upper Door Paint above the Door Panels was repainted when the interior was freshened up. ABOVE: A Good overall view of the interior shows the Nice New Bucket Seat Covers as well as the New Rear Seat Cover along with Beautiful New Door Panels both front and back. The New Blue Carpeting looks great and fits nicely around the Original 4 Speed Floor Hump. The Freshly Rechromed & Rebuilt Hurst Shifter looks great with its New Black Rubber Boot and New Chrome Boot Retaining Ring. The Headliner was also replaced a couple of years ago and it could stand to be tightened up a bit which can be done with a few old school tricks that I will share with the new owner. The Original Dome Light comes on as it should when the Doors are Opened and also comes on when you use the Headlight Switch. I have the Seat Hinge Covers which will go with the car. I just didnt get a chance to install them... in fact they will likely be installed before the car leaves my home! ABOVE: The Bucket Seats looks very Nice with the New Blue Seat Covers and the Seat Hinge Covers will be on the seats when you get the car. Look across to the Passenger Side and you'll see the Beautiful New Blue Door Panels with Original GTS Emblems and the Upper Section of the Doors have gorgeous Blue Paint which match the interior perfectly. The Armrest are Nice and Clean as are the Window Cranks and the Door Handles. The Carpets are New Correct replacements from ACC with the 4 Speed Hump showing just to the right of the Drivers Side Bucket Seat. The Original Blue Steering Wheel shows some wear but the Original Horn Ring is very Nice and the Vintage Sun Tach is Mounted on the Steering Column and is in good working condition. ABOVE: The New Legendary Auto Interior Blue Door Panels are Stunning in the correct Original Blue with the Original GTS emblems and Nice Upper Door Panel Stainless Steel Trim. The Door Handles and the Window Handles have very Nice Chrome..... just a real nice clean interior!!! ABOVE: The Drivers Side Door as shown open with the Beautiful Door Panel and the Super Nice Upper and Lower Blue Door Paint. The Original GTS emblem is in place as is the Original Upper Stainless Steel Door Panel Trim.... Nice Original Armrest Pads and Bases along with Nice Chrome Door Handles and Beautiful Window Handle. ABOVE: The Passenger Side Door Panel looks Awesome with the Nice Original GTS emblem. The Upper and Lower Sections of the Door are Painted in the Correct Blue and look Outstanding and the Upper section of the Door has the Beautiful Stainless Steel Trim that separates the Door panel from the Upper Door Paint. The Original Armrest Pads and Bases are real Nice as are the Chrome Door Handles and the Window Handles... all very Nice and Clean!!! ABOVE: The Drivers side Rear Interior Panel looks beautiful and is a New Correct Legendary Auto Interior replacement. The Painted section above the rear Panel looks Oustanding with gorgeous Correct Blue Paint and the Panel and the Painted section are separated by the Nice Original Stainless Steel Trim. The Rear Armrest Pads are very Nice with the Original Chrome Ashtrays.. Original Window Handle is also very Nice. Notice the Beautiful Rear Seat Cover with the Original Darker Blue insert in the Upper Section of the Rear Seat which houses the Original Rectangular Seat Ornament! ABOVE: The Passenger Side Rear Interior Panel looks great and the Stainless Steel Trim separates the Upper Painted Section of the Quarter Glass Sill. The Original Blue Armrest Pads and bases are very nice and the Original Ashtray is still in the Armrest Pad.... The interior in this GTS looks great...sure it could use a few little things but its a very Nice Interior that looks clean and comfortable throughout! ABOVE: Another picture of the Passenger Side Rear Interior Panel and part of the Rear Seat. The Inteior Rear panel looks great as it is a New Correct Replacement from Legendary Auto Interior and the Stainless Steel Trim separates the upper section of the Quarter Glass sill which is painted in the Correct Blue. The Rear Armrest Pad is very nice with the Original Chrome Ashtray and the Original Armrest Base is Nice.. Original Window Handle is very Nice and as you can see the Blue Seat Vinyl is Beautiful... Carpets are New ACC Reproductions and fit like a glove!!! ABOVE: The Seat Seat is Beautiful in the Correct Blue from Legendary Auto Interiors... looks awesome with the Original Darker Blue sections towards the Top of the Upper section of the Seat and the Original Chrome Seat inserts are in place and look great. The Rear Package Tray and the Headliner were replaced New a few years back and the Headliner could have been done a little tighter but its not a big deal as these can be tightened with an old school trick that I will be happy to share with the new owner or if I find the time in my busy schedule then I will take care of this myself. It never bothered me enough to worry about it as the interior is very nice!!! ABOVE: The Drivers Side Rear Interior Panel looks beautiful in the Nice Fresh Blue and the Blue Painted section above the Vinyl Panel looks Outstanding with the Original Stainless Steel Trim separating the Vinyl Panel from the Upper Painted Section. The Original Blue Armrest Pad is Super Nice with the Original Chrome Ashtray and the Original Chrome Window Handles are Beautiful with Nice Chrome and a Nice Black Knob. This Tachometer has a Beautiful Chrome Mounting Cup and is mounted securely on the Steering Column just like we did back in the 60's & 70's ... lets face it guys, we all had a Sun Tach in our Street cars back in the day!!! This Early Sun Tach works perfectly and even Lights properly and as you can see, the engine is idling at 950 RPM's which is perfect for this hot little 383 backed by the Hurst Shifted 4 Speed Manual Transmission along with its 8 3/4" Rearend with the 3.91 Geared Sure-Grip! ABOVE: The Dash looks pretty good from end to end except for the Dash Pad which needs to be replaced as the previous owner recovered the Original Dash Pad with a Blue material that looks less than perfect to say the least. The under the Dash Mopar AC Unit was installed by the previous owner along with the proper heater controls and I even have some of the other Mopar AC Parts if a guy wanted to finish installing AC in this car. I think it would be Awesome to have Cold AC in an Original 383 4 Speed Dart GTS. You can also see the cool Vintage Sun Tachometer and the freshly rechromed Hurst 4 Speed Handle with the NOS Black Rubber Shift Boot and the New Chrome Shift Boot Ring..... all of these pieces are Nice and Clean!!! ABOVE: A Nice picture of the Dart GTS shows the parking Lights working as well as all of the 1968 Only Round Side Marker Lights. This is one cool Big Block A Body! ABOVE: The GTS 383 shown from my neighbors lawn... all Side Marker Lights work...Taillights work, Brake Lights work, Turn Signals work, License Plate Light works, Headlights work, High & Low Beams, Dash Lights work!!! ABOVE: The Paint shows nicely in this picture and has quite a bit of Metallic in it which really comes to life in the Natural sunlight! ABOVE: The 2 Pictures above show the difference in the Paint while in Bright Sunlight and in the shade... the color is a cross between them both with lots of nice metallic. The Paint on the car is older but still looks fine for a weekend cruiser! ABOVE: The GTS 383 from the Drivers Side Rear shows the car fairly well! ABOVE: The Dart from the passenger side rear shows the nice even cut of the Tailpipes which exit just under the rear bumper .. also shows the cool White Stripe! ABOVE: With the Trunk open you can see the Nice New Trunk Mat and the New Trunk Weather Stripping. The Trunk was painted at the same time that the car was painted so the Wheel Houses are nicely painted as is the entire Trunk. The Trunk Drip Rail is Nice and Clean and the Trunk area as a whole has a Nice Clean Original appearance. ABOVE: The Underside of the Trunk Lid has Nice Clean Paint and looks Great! ABOVE: The Trunk shows nicely with Nice Clean Paint and a New Correct Houndstooth Vinyl Trunk Mat... Under the Trunk Mat is the Original Fiberboard Spare Tire Cover and a Correct Small Bolt Pattern Wheel with a Spare Tire. Notice the Nice New Rubber Weather Stripping which is something that should always be replaced on any 44 year old car to keep any moisture from making its way into your nice clean freshly painted Trunk. Not shown but included is the Complete Correct Jack Assembly ABOVE: The Trunk Pan and Trunk Extensions are nice and clean with no signs of any rust or rust repair. Notice all of the Original Trunk Pan Black Rubber Body Plugs are in place from the 2 located in the Spare Tire Well to the 2 Outer Body Plugs. Notice the original angled lines in the Original Trunk Extension Sheet Metal to the far left and the far right along with the Factory Spot Welds which attach the Trunk Pan to the Frame Rails. ABOVE: The bottom of the Trunk shows the Factory Installed Spare Tire well with both Original Black Drain Plugs. Notice the Original rectangular shaped Spare Tire Retaining Bracket which uses the Factory Threaded Stud which goes through the one of the Spare Tires Lug Holes and the Round Steel Disc Shaped Retainer holds the Fiberboard Spare Tire Cover in Place and all gets covered cleanly by the New Trunk Mat. The Trunk in this 1968 Dart GTS 383 is Super Solid as you can see!!! White Tail Stripe...Vintage Hurst Shifter Flower in the Rear Window, Hurst Equipped emblem on the Rear Finish Panel and the Painted Steel Wheels & Dog Disc Caps... GTS 383!!! ABOVE: The Passenger side rear quarter panel has some minor bubbles around the wheel well as you can see in this picture. There is also some bubbling on the rocker just in front of the of the rear wheel and up further on the rocker just below the rear edge of the door. The Doors are both real nice but there is some bubbling on the rockers and what you can see in the pictures ABOVE: The Drivers side quarter panel appears to have been replaced and it looks like they did a pretty nice job considering it was likely done 15+ years ago. The lower section of the drivers side quarter panel behind the rear wheel is nice with a nice inner skin as well. There is some bubbling in front of the drivers side rear wheel at the rocker panel in a couple of places including a spot just below the back end of the door on the rocker ... not on the door but the rocker is bubbling just below the rear end of the door as you can see in this picture. The Drivers side rear quarter lip appears nice. ABOVE: The bubbling above the passenger side rear wheel and some old repair work that was done in front of the rear wheel down by the rocker panel before the car was painted. ABOVE: The Drivers side Rocker has some bubbling just below the door as you can see in this picture and there is some evidence of some repair work that was done in front of the drivers side rear wheel down by the rocker panel. Its a small area in front of the drivers side rear wheel but its there and you can clearly see it in this picture. ABOVE: The drivers side Rear lower quarter panel behind the rear wheel is nice and solid and clean along the lower edge. ABOVE: The Drivers Side Door Jamb looks nice and clean. ABOVE: The Drivers Side Door Jam shows really Nice with Nice Clean Paint and Nice Original Door Striker which shows no sign of previous repair. The "A" Body Mopars often have issues with the Door Strikers and often need to be repaired or welded back into their proper position. The Door Jams have a clean overall appearance ABOVE: The Passenger Side Door Jam shows Nicely with Clean Paint and Nice Smooth welds. The Door Striker is excellent with no signs of previous repair. I believe this car to be wearing its Original Factory Installed Quarter Panels! A Cool GTS 383! ABOVE: A Very Cool Picture of the 1968 Dart GTS 383 4 Speed!!!!
