This incredible 1969 Dodge A108, known on the show circuit as “The Flying Brick”, is like a time machine from the heyday of Vannin’, and has had just one loving and careful owner for over 30 years!!! This van is like a time capsule of cool, and is an absolute hands down head turner wherever you take it! With literally hundreds of trophies to its credit over the past 30 years, magazine articles, and countless other accolades, this amazing creation is still in show ready condition, and is ready to drive ANYWHERE, right now! The van has regularly been driven to Van events in theUnited Statesover the past 30 years, and is about as proven, reliable, and ready to go as any other car on ebay right now. I have personally put about 150 miles on the van, and would not hesitate to fly in and drive it home to anywhere in the lower 48! The rare full panel wagon body, meaning it has no side doors, is incredibly solid, super straight, rust and rot free, and shows wonderfully from every angle. The paint was refinished less than 5 years ago, and still shows glossy, slick, and smooth just like in the 100 large photos below. Being a proven road machine, it does show a handful or so of truly minor marks like stone chips, a scuff, hairline scratch, and other things, but absolutely NOTHING that would constitute damage, or really even needs attention. The two-tone finish is bright and shiny, and looks just as good in the sun as it does cruising the boulevard at midnight. The glass on the van is in exceptional condition, and only the windshield edges show light lamination issues, which are really not an issue at all. No chips, cracks, or broken edges anywhere, plus, the prior owner has included some extra glass that shows wonderfully in case you ever do break or damage one! Rubber surrounds on the windows are in great condition, and not brittle or dry. Vent windows open and close with ease, and the rear windows open as well. Window fuzzies are like new, and help the windows roll up and down with no effort at all. Chrome door handles are all in great condition. Wipers are fully function two speed units, and even have a working washer spray! Headlight bezels are SUPER hard to find, and look fantastic! Grille was monochrome finished, and shows wonderfully. Front bumper is a chrome mini unit that looks super sano, while the rear is a heavy duty steel shorty unit with a functional trailer hitch the prior owner used to tow everything from Harley’s to Hot Dog carts! Painted mirrors look fantastic and are actually functional too! The rear roof vent was converted into a outside light source, and is sealed up well. The sunroof upfront is in great condition, fits securely, doesn’t appear to leak at all, and is easily removable for open air driving! Fake wheelie bars out back are just to confuse the enemy, but look really cool on the van! The side exit exhaust peeks out right in front of the rear wheels, and looks as awesome as they sound! The van rides on BF Goodrich Advantage Plus radial tires that are damage free and have over 75% of the useable tread life remaining. They are size P205/70R14 up front and P245/60R14 in the rear. Wheels are vintage mag wheels that show wonderfully, and should detail up even better when you get it home and spend some time cleaning the van! Chrome centers look great as well, and the whole wheel/tire set up screams vintage cool! The chassis of the van is clean and rock solid from front to back, with no rot, rust out, holes or issues evident. IT does show surface oxidation as you would expect, but a wire brush cleans it right off to show clean bare metal. Chassis has been constantly greased, maintained, and cleaned to make sure it is squak free, and the thing is as quiet as a church mouse on even the bumpiest roads! Shocks and springs are all new within the past two years, and the ride is soft and comfortable without being sloppy. The straight axle front end is solid and sure, and the van steers super easy and tracks very straight, even at freeway speeds. Open up the doors, and you are greeted by an interior that is so freaking cool, the light from cool won’t reach it for another year! Mildly refreshed a few years back, the inside is a combination of rich and thick tobacco leather, tweed, and cut panels that shows WONDERFULLY!!!! Other than a spot of dirt or ultra small mark or two, the inside looks like it could have just been completed! Door panels are original plastic with leather and carpet panel inserts and are in very good condition. Original door handles and window rollers are in very good condition as well. The entire dash, two-piece engine cover, center console, A-pillars, windshield header, door surrounds, and the center section of the rear roof are all covered in rich tobacco leather that looks EXCELLENT! Thick German weave style upholstery carpet was used over layers of sound proofing on the floor, walls, roof, and everything in between. It was even custom installed to show no seams at the roof joint! All of it is in excellent condition. Checkerboard leather insert panels look like new and wrap the sides and rear doors in a banner style. The right and left side have a decorative circle panel that is covered in a vintage flamingo material that shows like new. It can be easily removed and recovered in your choice of material should you want to destroy the character and history of the van. (Meaning, I hope you leave it just like it is!). Vinyl buckets are in fantastic condition, and have lap belts in place. A late 90’s Chrysler radio with AM-FM-Cassette is installed in the center console and looks great, sounds great, and was cleanly installed. A 2-speed ceiling mounted fan keeps the air flowing on super hot days, and an Auto-Meter oil pressure gauge sits next to a Mallory tach right on the dashboard. Factory gauges look great, and are all functional except for the speedo, which needs a new cable because the original was getting noisy. I believe it is still in place, if you want to hook it back up. Center console mounted electronic cruise control works just like it should, and is a must on those 1,000 mile trips! Factory steering column is wrapped in matching material, and has had the same two spoke rubber wheel on it for 20 years! The interior dome lights work, dash lights work, two speed windshield wipers work and have a functional washer spray, fog lights work, turn signals work, horn works, and it even has a hidden kill switch to shut off power as an anti-theft precaution. A power door lock system was installed to unlock the passenger door and rear doors at the flip of a switch. The center console top opens to a small storage cubby, and then the whole top unlatches and can be flipped back to show the monster motor in this crazy show van! A 413ci MAX WEDGE motor was bored out to 426ci, and has resided in this van pretty much forever. It has been rebuilt and redone countless times over the years, with the last full rebuild less than 6 years ago, when it was removed, cleaned and rebuilt with new seals, gaskets, etc. prior to another on its 1,500 mile journeys across the country. Clean, but not show detailed, the motor looks great and has just enough chrome and shiny bits to make strangers oohhhh and ahhhh when they see it! An 8 ¾ posi-trac rear end puts the power to the ground via a 727 automatic transmission with highway friendly 3.23 gears. The engine fires right up hot or cold, idles super clean, and is about as proven reliable and dialed in as anything I have ever owned. It shifts smooth like silk, kicks down to pass, and has zero issues. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THAT THIS VAN IS READY TO ROLL ANYWHERE YOU WANT TO TAKE IT! It is not some backyard built, thrown together last weekend rat rod. This is a full custom show van that has been on the circuit since the 70’s, carefully maintained and serviced by just ONE owner for over 30 years, and needs NOTHING to drive and enjoy right now! It is not a leaker, a weeper, and has no funny things going on. No rattles or squeaks, no odd handling or running characteristics, NOTHING! It is ready to go!!!! Brakes are in exceptional condition, and are not power, but bring the van down from speed easily, and without any adverse pull, fade, or wander. This incredible 1969 Dodge A108, known on the show circuit as “The Flying Brick”, is like a time machine from the heyday of Vannin’, and has had just one loving and careful owner for over 30 years!!!
This van is like a time capsule of cool, and is an absolute hands down head turner wherever you take it! With literally hundreds of trophies to its credit over the past 30 years, magazine articles, and countless other accolades, this amazing creation is still in show ready condition, and is ready to drive ANYWHERE, right now!
The van has regularly been driven to Van events in theUnited Statesover the past 30 years, and is about as proven, reliable, and ready to go as any other car on ebay right now. I have personally put about 150 miles on the van, and would not hesitate to fly in and drive it home to anywhere in the lower 48!
The rare full panel wagon body, meaning it has no side doors, is incredibly solid, super straight, rust and rot free, and shows wonderfully from every angle.
The paint was refinished less than 5 years ago, and still shows glossy, slick, and smooth just like in the 100 large photos below.
Being a proven road machine, it does show a handful or so of truly minor marks like stone chips, a scuff, hairline scratch, and other things, but absolutely NOTHING that would constitute damage, or really even needs attention.
The two-tone finish is bright and shiny, and looks just as good in the sun as it does cruising the boulevard at midnight.
The glass on the van is in exceptional condition, and only the windshield edges show light lamination issues, which are really not an issue at all. No chips, cracks, or broken edges anywhere, plus, the prior owner has included some extra glass that shows wonderfully in case you ever do break or damage one!
Rubber surrounds on the windows are in great condition, and not brittle or dry. Vent windows open and close with ease, and the rear windows open as well. Window fuzzies are like new, and help the windows roll up and down with no effort at all.
Chrome door handles are all in great condition.
Wipers are fully function two speed units, and even have a working washer spray!
Headlight bezels are SUPER hard to find, and look fantastic!
Grille was monochrome finished, and shows wonderfully.
Front bumper is a chrome mini unit that looks super sano, while the rear is a heavy duty steel shorty unit with a functional trailer hitch the prior owner used to tow everything from Harley’s to Hot Dog carts!
Painted mirrors look fantastic and are actually functional too!
The rear roof vent was converted into a outside light source, and is sealed up well.
The sunroof upfront is in great condition, fits securely, doesn’t appear to leak at all, and is easily removable for open air driving!
Fake wheelie bars out back are just to confuse the enemy, but look really cool on the van!
The side exit exhaust peeks out right in front of the rear wheels, and looks as awesome as they sound!
The van rides on BF Goodrich Advantage Plus radial tires that are damage free and have over 75% of the useable tread life remaining. They are size P205/70R14 up front and P245/60R14 in the rear.
Wheels are vintage mag wheels that show wonderfully, and should detail up even better when you get it home and spend some time cleaning the van! Chrome centers look great as well, and the whole wheel/tire set up screams vintage cool!
The chassis of the van is clean and rock solid from front to back, with no rot, rust out, holes or issues evident. IT does show surface oxidation as you would expect, but a wire brush cleans it right off to show clean bare metal.
Chassis has been constantly greased, maintained, and cleaned to make sure it is squak free, and the thing is as quiet as a church mouse on even the bumpiest roads!
Shocks and springs are all new within the past two years, and the ride is soft and comfortable without being sloppy. The straight axle front end is solid and sure, and the van steers super easy and tracks very straight, even at freeway speeds.
Open up the doors, and you are greeted by an interior that is so freaking cool, the light from cool won’t reach it for another year! Mildly refreshed a few years back, the inside is a combination of rich and thick tobacco leather, tweed, and cut panels that shows WONDERFULLY!!!! Other than a spot of dirt or ultra small mark or two, the inside looks like it could have just been completed!
Door panels are original plastic with leather and carpet panel inserts and are in very good condition. Original door handles and window rollers are in very good condition as well.
The entire dash, two-piece engine cover, center console, A-pillars, windshield header, door surrounds, and the center section of the rear roof are all covered in rich tobacco leather that looks EXCELLENT!
Thick German weave style upholstery carpet was used over layers of sound proofing on the floor, walls, roof, and everything in between. It was even custom installed to show no seams at the roof joint! All of it is in excellent condition.
Checkerboard leather insert panels look like new and wrap the sides and rear doors in a banner style.
The right and left side have a decorative circle panel that is covered in a vintage flamingo material that shows like new. It can be easily removed and recovered in your choice of material should you want to destroy the character and history of the van. (Meaning, I hope you leave it just like it is!).
Vinyl buckets are in fantastic condition, and have lap belts in place.
A late 90’s Chrysler radio with AM-FM-Cassette is installed in the center console and looks great, sounds great, and was cleanly installed.
A 2-speed ceiling mounted fan keeps the air flowing on super hot days, and an Auto-Meter oil pressure gauge sits next to a Mallory tach right on the dashboard.
Factory gauges look great, and are all functional except for the speedo, which needs a new cable because the original was getting noisy. I believe it is still in place, if you want to hook it back up.
Center console mounted electronic cruise control works just like it should, and is a must on those 1,000 mile trips!
Factory steering column is wrapped in matching material, and has had the same two spoke rubber wheel on it for 20 years!
The interior dome lights work, dash lights work, two speed windshield wipers work and have a functional washer spray, fog lights work, turn signals work, horn works, and it even has a hidden kill switch to shut off power as an anti-theft precaution.
A power door lock system was installed to unlock the passenger door and rear doors at the flip of a switch.
The center console top opens to a small storage cubby, and then the whole top unlatches and can be flipped back to show the monster motor in this crazy show van!
A 413ci MAX WEDGE motor was bored out to 426ci, and has resided in this van pretty much forever. It has been rebuilt and redone countless times over the years, with the last full rebuild less than 6 years ago, when it was removed, cleaned and rebuilt with new seals, gaskets, etc. prior to another on its 1,500 mile journeys across the country.
Clean, but not show detailed, the motor looks great and has just enough chrome and shiny bits to make strangers oohhhh and ahhhh when they see it!
An 8 ¾ posi-trac rear end puts the power to the ground via a 727 automatic transmission with highway friendly 3.23 gears.
The engine fires right up hot or cold, idles super clean, and is about as proven reliable and dialed in as anything I have ever owned.
It shifts smooth like silk, kicks down to pass, and has zero issues.
I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THAT THIS VAN IS READY TO ROLL ANYWHERE YOU WANT TO TAKE IT!
It is not some backyard built, thrown together last weekend rat rod. This is a full custom show van that has been on the circuit since the 70’s, carefully maintained and serviced by just ONE owner for over 30 years, and needs NOTHING to drive and enjoy right now!
