1955 Porsche 356C Speedster Racing Wide Body ***NO RESERVE*** Built in 1985 by Classic Motor Carriages Miami on a 1973 VW frame. Rebuilt in 2006 by Fischer Buggies Tampa. Great Condition. Runs like a Champ. Handles hard and tight like a race car. A few minor blemishes, inaccurate speedometer and gas gauge. It is a lot of fun to drive around all day but its not great when it rains. Its hard to see while driving in the rain and during a huge Florida downpour you might get some little leaks around the windows. Also, it is uncomfortable to drive with the top up. The car runs great and it is quick. The transmission and steering are tight, not loose like the old VWs but it rides hard and the brakes are stiff like the old VWs. The engine used to have a pair of dual 45mm Delharto carbs but they made the car run bad at low RPMs and required maintenance so I had a pair 40mm Solex carbs put on and it makes the car great for driving around all the time and not just for open road or track driving. The speedometer reads about 20% faster than your going but it never made a difference to me so I did not have it fixed. The gas gauge is not correct and when it reads empty you still have about 3 gallons left. We dont drive the car often so when running it the other day I noticed the windshield wipers are not working and side-view mirror is missing the glass. Also, the timing is slightly off and the battery is weak. I will put it a new battery and get it tuned up before it is picked up. Please ask us if you have any questions.
