I found this truck a few years ago, started building it for my own use, and as in most projects what started out a simple paint job turned into much more. I installed an 86 2F motor with 30K since a complete overhaul, it has a torque cam and this is honestly the strongest 2F I have ever owned. It has all the 1971 accessories on the exterior so it keeps a stock appearance, A wrapped exhaust header and new 2 1/2" with a Flow-master completes the system. I installed the internally regulated 86 alternator in the stock location...The 71 distributor has a Petronix electronic ignition system inside. The stock seats and jump seats have been covered with a nice heavy tweed, with vinyl sides, an overhead console is added covered to match, steering wheel is also professionally covered with matching vinyl. A JVC CD player that is IPOD and USB compatible is in the overhead console. The paint was just finished and we too the truck apart to do it, doors have all new internals, and all weatherstrip is new, top was removed, gutter was cleaned and resealed, with fresh white paint. It has a later roll bar installed covered with padding from Spector Off Road. Shoulder belts from a later FJ40 are installed. Vintage Air blows ice cold, and heater and defrost are in this unit. I have dual back up lights controlled by switch in the overhead, as extra interior lights. All bolts that are exposed are new correct gold cadmium. The "three on the tree" works perfect as does the vacuum shift transfer case. I installed front discs from an 85 Toyota pickup, along with new locking hubs. 5 brand new Yokohama 30x950x15's are installed on matching disc wheels with new hubcaps..Front turn signals, side emblems, grille emblem, are OEM new..Bumperettes are repros from Japan. Receiver hitch with the fold down step is new....This truck has the good stuff from a later FJ40 except with a much thicker body. I have service info on the Vintage Air, the stereo and the Pertronix along with a half quart of the paint that go with the truck...everything works on the truck.. On May-28-12 at 21:09:22 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention the carpet is new, deluxe kit from JT Outfitters, wires visible in the pic of the floorboard go to the overhead, they run inside the roll bar padding then around the drip rail.....truck has black bedliner inside also. On Jun-01-12 at 16:34:58 PDT, seller added the following information: I got a question "Does the truck have only 25,404 miles on it?" this is what the odometer reads, I doubt very seriously with the age of the truck if this is all the miles on it.......I never intended for this to be reported as actual miles. Truck was already Dune Beige when I acquired it, we found during the repaint it was original Red, the only place this is visible now is way up under the dash and inside the glove box.
