1989 Ford LTD Crown Victoria LXNO RESERVE Four door full-sized sedan 1983-1991 Generation (also known as the box models). I always thought the benefit of owning a late eighties model as oppose to an early eighties model is that you get the same style and design but with the reliability of a car that's not 10 years older. Solid body with absolutely no rust. Rock solid floors and trunk. Believe to be original paint. Landau Vinyl roof in great shape with no tears. Clear glass with no cracks. All chrome and trim in good shape with no dents or rust but "Crown Victoria LTD" emblem missing on trunk lid. New white wall tires (reversed). Spare tire in trunk. Duel exhaust. Fuel injected 5.0L 8 Cylinder Engine, automatic transmission. The odometer reads just under 97,900 and I have placed less than 3,000 miles on it since my purchase in October 2010. Based on the condition of the car, I would assume those miles are original. Flawless dash with no cracks. All gauges and displays and over all dash cluster in near-mint condition. The speedometer, odometer, trip meter, in-dash clock in great working order. A voltage, RPM and temperature gauge was carefully added under the dash and does not obstruct the originality of the car. Power seats, Power windows, Power brakes, Power Steering. TripMinder Computer. Cruise Control. Ice cold A/C. The radio was replaced (no holes were cut) with a FM/AM CD/flash-drive player (original radio included in trunk). Interior and exterior lights are in perfect working order. Ashtrays and lighters on every door armrest. LX Series Package - An Interior Luxury Package was offered on the base model, and included upgraded interior fabrics (including a higher-grade of carpeting), split-bench dual recliner front seats, full-bench center armrest rear seats, additional sound insulation, door-mounted courtesy lights and power windows (on a dedicated control panel, where the power remote mirror and door lock switches also were placed when ordered). This trim package became its own model (designated the "LX") As for the negatives: The back windows function sluggish due to lack of use. I have not figured out the automatic door locks. The fuel sending unit jammed prior to my purchase thus the gas gauge is the only gauge not functioning. The sound of air in the steering pump is evident when making sharp turns. Aside those minor issues, I would drive this vehicle to California in full confidence. I purchased this vehicle from an older couple in Hollywood in October of 2010. I've used the vehicle primary for my short commute to work and back. I've been very content with the performance, comfort and aesthetics of my Crown Victoria. Recently, I came across a 1987 Jeep Wagoneer at a very good deal. I owned a Wagoneer in high school and I couldn't resist the urge to purchase it, knowing I would have to sell my Crown Victoria.
