Vehicle Detail
I realize that I'd rather cruise in a boat than a car! I bought her 3 years ago from a guy in Maine, who owned it all of 6 months or so, it was a lifelong Florida car, and it shows, as you can see from pictures underneath, the original factory blue paint still very visible on the shocks, rear end, and under carriage, it has always been garaged here in NY. This is a beautiful 1969 convertible, roof is in great condition. Matching numbers. New dash pad, I think the seats have been replaced, but they look original, not sure. Magnum wheels. Kenwood stereo (in glove box) and I have original glove box insert, with two (2) 6" (in front, between front seats as pictured) and two (2) 9" (custom box over the hump in the rear) Kenwood speakers, two (2) 10" or 12" Kenwood sub woofers in trunk and two (2) ken wood amps in trunk also, a 500W and a 600W, sounds great as is, but you could really fine tune it into a sound machine. The original factory radio is still in her and hooked up AND works!! Odometer reads 33,098 miles, the guy I bought it from only had it 6 months, painted it and sold it. He emailed me a notarized letter from the 2 owners previous stating he had the car in Florida for 26 years and that the odometer was accurate at that time, which was 22 or 23k. Is it legit? I don't know. I was going to get a Marti report on it to try to certify the miles, but was told that it may not be accurate, if the records weren't kept. So why waste my money? The engine purrs, it starts up every time, it is very possible that this is a 33k survivor. Not many of these cars around, period. 302 engine gives a got of get up and go, and the automatic transmission makes it a fun car to cruise in. I will try to answer any questions as best I can, as I am not a car buff, and I will add pictures as requested. I don't want any disappointments so I tried to take pictures and explain anything that may be of concern. There is an old tear on the front passenger seat that was repaired, and now it looks like a scratch, so the repair holds. There is a small bubble in the paint, as pictured, on the drivers side rear quarter. It has a pretty good 10 foot paint job (that means at 10 feet, it looks great), done about 4 years ago. I had the racing stripes put on, and the stereo put in, and a new battery installed. Had it in shop last year for full tune up, changed some sensors. It's a 40 year old car, so it drips oil once in awhile, but I have never had to add oil, that's how slow the drip is! I have the spare tire and the spare tire cover, I keep in garage, because the sub woofer takes up trunk space. Automatic convertible top, dual exhaust sounds GREAT!! The body is super straight, the doors DO NOT sag, they hang straight and close and open easily, not common in a 40 year old convertible. I absolutely love this car, and drive it a few times a week, weather permitting, but I have to choose between the car and a new boat! I've had sports cars for 20 years, time for a change! or is it? It is priced to sell. My reserve is $15k, please don't waste my time or yours if you're not willing to meet that price. I live in Rockaway Beach, NY and it is for sale locally as well, I've had a lot of interest from the influx of surfers in the area and don't imagine it will last long, but to be fair to myself, I will let it run here for 7 days before I sell it, unless of course I'm made an offer I can't refuse! You won't find a nicer cruiser for this price. She is a head turner everywhere I go. Good luck and thanks for looking.
