First of all, thank you for viewing my auction. After viewing all the ratty other 5.0's out there and looking at this car, feel free to message me. I am both a PS and TRS on ebay which less than 2% of seller are, and have a 100% positive 2000+ feedback score, so have no worries. Please take the time to allow the many detailed photos to load, it is worth the wait, and please read the entire description before asking questions or using Buy It Now (I know it is long, but I wanted to cover all bases, and be thorough!!) Very rare Medium Cabernet Red with Sand Beige Interior. I am listing this 1989 Mustang LX 5.0 hachback as part of my private collection, never offered for sale before. 2 family owned car since new and always in Southern CA. Rarer than the 90 7 up cars, the 92-93 feature cars, and the 93 Cobra. I own a Mustang shop that has been in business for 18 years and am very particular with these cars and recently finished a $4K restification of the whole car from top to bottom. This car is ready to compete and win at any MCA show as a survivor car with original paint and all original VIN stickers on every body panel. There just aren't many cars of this caliber out there, even at MCA shows. I have known this car and maintained it since 2004 for the previous family who owned it and loved it. Only adult driven since new. Never any rust or accidents. All OEM Ford body panels. Oil has been changed every 3K miles or 6 months with the Mobil 1 10W 30 synthetic. First oil change was done at 500 miles with Ford non-synthetic, and the second done at 2500 miles with Ford non-synthetic. All oil changes since have been Mobil 1 synthetic. Underside, and inside of wheels detailed frequently since new as is the exterior and interior. Carpets have never been shampooed and still look like new. Car is has also always been garaged, This car is impeccable for the price. No accidents, and no modifications except for the JVC CD stereo and speakers. Engine is untouched, except for maintenance. Never modified or driven by kids. Anything that did not work properly has always been rebuilt or replaced. Many obsolete NOS parts used. Never wrecked, no bondo, and nothing ever re-sprayed!! Always adult driven and respected. Ashtray door, console door, armrests, power windows, locks, and even swivel maplight etc are all excellent and still function as intended. Ice cold A/C. Car does not overheat even in 120 degree weather. I let the car idle for 45 minutes in 110 degree heat and it did not get 1/2 way on the temperature gauge. I then drove it to make sure there were no issues, pinging, or vibrations...no problems. Car is meant to be driven and enjoyed. Looks like a 30K mile, 23 year old car. Car has always been garaged and most of the miles came from driving it on nice days a couple times per week and to several national Mustang shows through-out the years. Never raced or abused. 1 of 24,734 Mustang LX Hatchbacks built in 1989, only 2734 of those were built in Medium Cabernet Red, of those only 73 were 5.0's with Sand Beige interior, of those, only 23 had power equipment group, of those only 14 were 5 speed manuals, and how many of those 14 are in this condition still?? This is probably the ONLY one!! You are better off getting one of these cars that have been driven and properly maintained than one with super low miles that has not been properly stored or has dried up seals. Nothing leaks or seaps on this car and it burns no oil. Compression is with in 3% on every cylinder. Timing chain is tight. Transmission shifts as smooth as butter with no grinds, issues, whines, or popping out of gear Clutch is tight. Gets 25+ MPG on the freeway!! Tires have good tread but are old, factory size 2255516 on original pony wheels with no curbing and caps in nice shape and properly refinished front and back, brakes front and rear are new, including rotors and pads all around Never been smoked in, no stains, still smells new. Ashtray never used. Aftermarket CD player and speakers that works great with no farting speakers (some of the pictures show the radio out, but is in and working fine) All vents have their original, white silk screening that is unfaded, or marred!! Car is VERY clean top to bottom, Steering wheel is like new, Original spare tire, jack, tire iron, and holdown hardware all intact. All power options work perfect including cruise control. All signals and lights have original Ford scripting on them and work perfectly, pass headlight gets water in it sometimes when washing and driver's side marker light has a crack. I felt that this added to the unrestored survivor status to this car, so I left them alone. Tail lights are also OEM Ford and are perfect. This car looks and drives like a 30K mile car, It is that nice. Even a 30K mile, 23 year old car will not look, run and drive like this one. All black trim was removed and refinished professionally by my Mustang shop in the past 3 months....all front and rear window moldings, side moldings, door handles, side mirrors, cowl grill, antennae mast/base, upper door trims, wiper arms, and quarter windows. Paint on body, door and trunk jams, bumpers, engine box, etc all original with original VIN numbers, and still shines very well. Obviously, from being 23 years old, there are a some dings, scratches, etc, all of which have been touched up. This adds patina to the unrestored, survivor status of this car. Paintless dent available as a mobile service in all areas should be able to remove any dings in the car if you so chose. They are only original once!! I have owned over 100 Cobras, Cobra R's, Saleen's and other Fox bodies and am VERY familiar with these cars!! I know what to look at and what they are and were from new. Every correct clip, nut, bolt, rivet, plug, sticker, rubber bumper, etc is correct on this car!! Car is available for inspection and can be driven or shipped anywhere. The pictures speak for themselves. This is a beautiful car and PERFECTLY balanced as far as looks, safety, economy, handling, braking, comfort, reliability, sound, and performance!! It is like stepping back to a Ford showroom in 1989!! You can drive this car anywhere with no issues. This is the most balanced original 5.0 you will ever drive. You will not find a nicer one for the money that is all stock. These cars are very hard to find in unmolested form as this one. CA car, not a car stored in humid salty air like the others out there either that do not have any underside photos. This is why I took as many pictures as I did, including the underside, so you can see how well preserved this car is. All the original underside overspray,markings, drips, stickers, etc are there!!! Car also has new brakes, alignment, distributor cap, spark plugs, belt, fuel and air filters, fluids, rebuilt window motors, all original Ford window and lock switches and bezels, etc, Many new weatherstrips and other misc. Car is tight and doesn't rattle. Steering rack, alternator, A/C compressor, water pump, and power steering pump have been rebuilt. Injectors were removed, rebuilt and flowed with in 1% tolerance of each other. Car starts first time, every time and idles smooth. A/C system is converted to R134 and blows ice cold. Heater core is recent and heat is hot. All suspension is tight and car tracks down the road well and not all over the road like most. Car has been impeccably maintained and all services have been done before needed. Nothing overlooked. . Any questions, please message me and I will respond promptly.
