Up for auction is a 1979 Spitfire 1500 barn find. This is a southern car with 79000 orig miles. This would make a great parts car or restoration project. Car seems to be complete with no major parts missing. Car has been sitting stored inside on blocks since 1992. There are no major rust issues with this car. All rust is mostly surface rust. Passenger side floor board still has original white paint and driver side floor board has heavy surface rust with no holes. The radiator was stored with antifreeze and holds water fine. I added a quart of water to radiator and that filled it to the top. Radiator fan is original with original shroud. Oil was inspected and found to be fairly clean. Engine turns over with no problem and has good compression. Engine is equipped with a Webber carburetor and manifold and has had an exhaust header installed. All glass is in good condition with no chips or cracks. Convertible top will need replacing but top frame is complete. Rugs, door panels and seat covers need replacing as well as all four tires.
