Vehicle Detail

This is a beautiful 1970 Ford Mustang Convertible that has 140,630 miles. It is a 200 c.i. in-line 6 cylinder engine with 3 Automatic C4 Transmission. This is a very rust free car. It has been garage kept since 1990 (I have owned since that time). This vehicle's body and paint is in exceptionally good condition for her age. I had exhaust system, floor boards, carpet, and a new convertible top professionally installed in the mid 1990's. It was also painted in 1990. She starts and drives..but does idle roughly sometimes stalls while idling. Definately needs a tune up - plugs wires, etc. There is a small leak of brake fluid from the rear right wheel which does result in some pulling when brake applied. Plenty of fluid in the master cylinder. This will need attention by the next owner. She is not a perfect specimen by any means but for 42 years old she still turns heads. I have full ownership of the vehicle. I have Bill of Sale from the previous owner dating back to 1973!I have Marti report and Marti issued Flord Licensed Data plateI will do my best to call what is wrong with the vehicle I am selling on eBay. I will call it like it is and show pictures of any issues. There are no secrets with my listing. That is why my rating is 100%. I am unaware of anything else that is wrong with the car except what is listed below. The Red paint shines and is about a 8.5 on a scale of 1 to 10. (factory color was Yellow)The car's exterior has a ding in the passanger side door. The are a couple of small paint chips. No body rust! There is a small area of surface rust along the lip of the driver front wheel well where is was scrapped - superficial rust is there. Over body looks great and is straight! The interior is ORIGINAL and in decent shape except the passenger front seat has a split along a seem on the bottom, and the driver seat has many tears exposing the inner foam. I employ a black seat cover there (pictures) The seat belts are intact front and rear. The carpet was replaced in the 1990's and a 7.5 on a 1 to 10 scale. The dash has some sun damaged splitting on top by the speaker and instruments are in good working shape. The door panels are original and in good shape. The top was replaced in the 1990's and is in great condition (pictures)There is a brake fluid leak at the passenger rear wheel, car pulls when brake applied. Will need attention.Car Drives, but Idles roughly, and may stall when stopped. This is only just occurred in last few weeks and will need a full tune-up, wires, plugs, distributor, etc. This car was driven approx 7000 miles since 1990.The transmission works well, but the governor flips back and forth between 2nd and 3rd gears if you are at just the precise speed where the gears would be changed (need to drive a touch faster or slower than this speed). The rear bumper has a few small rust spots. All chrome is in good shape for its age. The door and top weather strip and the exterior rubber is in poor to fair shape. The factory philco am radio is installed but stops working after a few minutes. The heat and fan works. The wipers and fluid work. The interior lights do not work. All exterior lights horn, and turn signals work. The car drives very well and the steering and suspension seem pretty tight. The tires are Peerless are nearly new. I just installed a battery. The windshield looks original and had no rock stars or cracks.Everything under hood looks correct. The belts, hoses, filters etc. look to be in good shape. The driver's door hinges need new bushings. The under carriage of the car is in good shape. The bottom line is that this is a great vintage car and a great start on a restoration project - or with a brake job and tune-up this is a great driver as she is. Please don’t email me and ask what I will take for the car. Bid on it. This is an auction. If you are the high bidder you have a contractual obligation to complete the purchase for the auction price. Money must clear my bank and be in my account for me to release the car and ownership paperwork. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements.
