This is one of only 52 Limited Champagne Westfalias ever made in 1978. Only 26 of these went to Canada and the other 26 went to the United States. Very select dealers were given one that was pre-sold through a lottery system. These were only produced from January 1978 through April 1978. The BIG question is, how many still exist today? And how many are as original and as stunning as this beauty? This is one of the FINEST 1978 Volkswagen Deluxe Westfalia Limited Champagne Edition’s IN THE COUNTRY! With some unique options including, 4-speed manual transmission, rare air conditioning. I acquired this from the original owners who bought her new off the showroom floor in February of 1979 from Mezzetti Volkswagen in Sunny Fremont California, remember, only few dealers in the world received a Limited Champagne Edition Westfalia. This is one of the few I have seen this original and correct. It is still wearing 100% of its original Agate Brown and Pastel White paint with a near perfect body. Its always been garaged and cared for since new. It still has the original California Blue Plates and dealer license plate frame with the original 1979 registration sticker! The original exterior and interior look AMAZING for being 34-years-old. This Westfalia is ROCK SOLID, untouched, and dry as a nut. It has its correct 2.0 Fuel Injected engine runs and drives great. It comes with all curtains, mosquito net, stove, and iceboxes to keep things fresh while camping with the family. All the lights blinkers are working as they should including the original clock in the dash! The air conditioning will need to be checked and re-charged as it hasn't been working for many years. The poptop canvas is original to the bus but has tear on the driver’s side, and that's it. The tires have less than 500 miles are in great condition. You will be HARD-PRESSED to find another like this one. It's hard to believe its beautiful condition after 34 years. This truly is a once in a lifetime offering. Finding a 1978 Volkswagen Deluxe Limited Champagne Edition is very rare. Finding one wearing its original paint with a beautiful body, blue plates, factory AIR CONDITIONING, and interior like this one is nearly impossible.
